Super Falcons stars, Asisat Oshoala, Rasheedat Ajibade and Monday Gift visited the governor at the Lagos House in Marina.

The Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwoolu has acknowledged that Super Falcons Star, Asisat Oshoala is truly 'Agba Baller'.

Sanwoolu acknowledged this during the trio of Asisat Oshoala, Rasheedat Ajibade and Monday Gift visited the governor at the Lagos House in Marina.

Asisat Oshoala made history at the ongoing 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup during Nigeria’s 3-2 win against Australia.

Oshoala entered the game at Brisbane Stadium as a replacement in the 63rd minute. She scored Nigeria's third goal in the 72nd minute, helping her team to victory and making history by being the first Nigerian player (male or female) to score at three different FIFA World Cups.

'Agba Baller' is an indigenous salutation used for Oshoala to salute her spectacular performance which in the Yoruba language means veteran football star.

In 2022, Barcelona, on their official Twitter handle, saluted the Nigerian star as ‘Agba baller,’ after she scored twice and bagged two assists as Barcelona thrashed Benfica in a record-breaking 9-0 victory in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Asisat has won the Africa Women’s Footballer of the Year for a record five times. (2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022) and she has been reckconed with the name.

SanwoOlu acknowledged Asisat Oshoala as 'Agba Baller' and celebrated the Super falcons Stars incredible feets at the world Cup.

"Asisat Oshoala who came in company of Rasheedat Ajibade and Monday Gift, came to pay us a courtesy visit. The Super Falcons’ incredible run at the FIFA Women's World Cup has ignited a new era of enthusiasm for women's football in Nigeria.

"Their achievements on the field and the unity they brought to our nation are truly remarkable. We will continue to empower and encourage our female athletes, and also work towards a brighter future for women's football in Nigeria.

"A big thank you to these amazing ladies for their visit, and for the gifts of the clubs jerseys."

The Super Falcons will begin their quest for next year's Olympic next month.
