With Black Americans, they've fought the system to such a point that America had no option but to introduce affirmative action that has helped all ethnic minorities in the Us such that any American govt contract has to have a certain percentage awarded to ethnic minority companies by law.

We in the UK have not fought for a similar thing in the UK and if any black person dares mention this in the work place or elsewhere, you will see fellow black people shout him or her down in the UK saying that we prefer to get ahead on merit when we all know too well that racism in the UK is so endemic that merit is not applied to black people and the lame thing called equal opportunities in the UK is just a mask to fulfill all righteousness.

Your uncle was smart and also lucky that he was a Doctor and so at around 50 years of age, he did not have to think about where he would get a source of income for if he relocated to Naija as he is a Doctor and can set up private practice once he settles in Naija.

Don't bank on his UK kids coming to look for their father in Nigeria.
