These Ecowas countries must think themselves to be lords over Western Africa. It's the audacity with which they're trying to make decisions for a sovereign country, that has me in stitches.

Transition to what? Full blown military dictatorship?
is not even better here in Nigeria for military to take over the affair of governance than this unproductive democracy here.

As in, they want to be allowed to hold on to power until then?
Can they be trusted to handover power when the time comes?
give them benefits of doubt.

Whether they can be trusted or not is not in anyone's place to question. It's their country for crying out loud!

Are the military junta the legitimate government of that country?

It is funny how the word "Democracy" is used to shortchange Africans. It is a matter of semantics and psychology. Is Nigeria running a democratic government? It is best described as civilian rule ( by all means necessary as exemplified by Tinubu).

Igbos and Obidients are looking up to judiciary in Nigeria over a contested presidential election that an Igbo candidate claimed the winner did not merit.

Same Igbos and Obidients are also the ones supporting a military junta that illegally and treasonably sacked a democratically elected government.

Same Igbos and Obidients want ECOWAS and other foreign nations to respect the sovereignty of Niger, even when the legitimate government wants those world powers to remove the military junta, so that the legitimate government can return to its constitutional duties.

Igbos and Obidients want the very same foreign powers to help them remove the democratically elected President of Nigeria. They have written letters to ask that the President in Nigeria should not be recognised. They have forgotten that Nigeria is also a sovereign state - one that is even having the legitimate and democratically elected President in power.

What do Igbos and Obidients truly want?

What is their moral character judging by all their unstable interests that conflict with each other?
They are bunch of losers and they will keep losing.

Some things are really absurd.

I see them as power craving anarchists who have no regard for democracy.

Indeed.

These creeps are clearly morally bankrupt tbh. A very insidious breed of wet blankets.

It's as CLEAR as daylight when you subject all the moral and trust variables to pure dialectics.

He stole by securing highest votes or by securing 25% or more in 29states out of 37 federation units?

Who was it stolen from? Was it stolen from Atiku or Obi or Kwankwaso?

It's mineral resource: Uranium.

That's what France has been looting all these years; and that's what the coupist aim to stop.

Common reason tells me the western powers are muscling Niger through the mouth of ECOWAS.

Heard there's a major pipeline that runs in that country to Morocco or so and France stealing heavily from that country. Just African leaders with French powers fighting for their own selfish interest.

Whether legitimate or not, the citizens of Niger republic have strongly given their support to the military Junta. That is all the legitimacy they need to get things done. Earlier today, there was yet another massive rally in support of the Junta. It would amount to folly for anyone else to attempt going against the will of the masses.

The 3-year proposition for handover is a bad joke and silly insult from the Junta.

It can't take them anything or anywhere more than a year to sort out the mess, review the constitution, conduct a legit election, and get ECOWAS and the world off their backs.

They clearly don't want to relinquish power.

I think from my observations many Nigerians are not intelligent or probably have no idea about real life situations. But then there is always freedom of expression and social media is there for people to express themselves.

Have you ever wondered why your personal opinion never counts when it comes to reality? Probably because many people always show their opinion talents online without knowing what is actually happening in the physical.

Ecowas membership is strictly a matter of "freedom of association". It should not be a template upon which the sovereignty of any participating member state is undermined. It won't take more than 24hours for any country to pull out of the Ecowas bloc.

So let that not be a yardstick for anyone to stretch the limits of already set boundaries.
