Chinjo2:Who are the "they"? You better get off from entitlement mentality to actually doing the hardwork. When you all conspired using politics of hate and envy to hold down the old two FG ports in Lagos , LASG went on to initiate and build with international partners our brand Lekki Deep seaport. We have the Badagry Deep seaport next in line to build and not waiting for Federal Government. You are making excuses for your leaders failure 11 Likes 3 Shares |

mrvitalis: Although most of the supplies are for the SE market but a significant percentage will also go to the SS, NC and SW. Remember that Onitsha is a hub for distribution of goods and services in Nigeria. 1 Like |

Chinjo2: Calabar port is working, it just needs dredging and better management. And it's one project we're expecting the current governor to diligently pursue to a logical conclusion. 2 Likes |

Only just now, wasn't it commissioned in 2020? >he noted, only happens for six months in a year due to the low water levels in the River Niger during the dry season Well that would explain alot, the niger river needs to be dredged all year round. Atleast now its seeing economic use |

More of this, but this concessioneers are too slow for my liking... Must they wait for the govt before dredging the river? . I thought it was part of the agreement when the port was being handed to them? |

Southeast is not landlocked, after the end of the civil war in 1970, British government whose sole reason for supporting Nigeria to use military force to force Eastern Nigeria aka Biafra back to Nigeria was as a result of their huge interest in crude oil that was mostly in Old Eastern Nigeria then, advised Gowon and the entire Northern Nigeria political elites and Military to ensure Southeast is completely separated from today's Southsouth and that while doing so, that they should ensure they map the boundaries such that Southeast will be denied access ocean so as to discourage them forever from ever seeking to secede from Nigeria. In doing this, they moved many Igbo speaking communities in Southeast into Southsouth states like Rivers, etc to ensure Southeast is denied access to ocean and to also reduce the number of crude oil wells in Southeast.
