The suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele has reportedly opted for a plea bargain leading to an indefinite shift in his arraignment in court.

Sources privy to the development said Emefiele and his-co accused, Saadat Yaro, have opted for a plea bargain policy to settle with the Federal Government.

Naija News recalls the federal government filed a N6.9 billion 20-count charge bordering on alleged breach of procurement laws and contract inflation on the suspects.

However, the arraignment scheduled for Wednesday by a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory was not stated on the cause list of the court this morning.

Similarly, Emefiele and his co-defendant, Yaro were not in court neither was any unusual security presence observed around the court premises.

The lawyers of the parties involved in the matter were also not present in court.

According to Daily Post which quoted sources said to be in the know, the arraignment was shifted at the instance of the detained CBN Governor to enable all parties come into an agreement.

Emefiele’s lawyer Kehinde Akinlolu (SAN) was also said to have confirmed the shift in the arraignment, adding that a new date may likely be issued by the Chief Judge, Justice Hussein Baba Yusuf.

Meanwhile, the court has commenced proceedings on other matters on the cause list.

Emefiole.

I like how he severely punished those who embraced suffering due to cash scarcity in the hopes that their candidate will win.

Las las, na Tinubu win the election, got sworn in as President, and even became ECOWAS chairman.

Since then, those people have hated ECOWAS like they hate Osus in their midst.

They have hated democracy like they used to hate Niger Republic when Buhari was in power.

They now love military coups like they love IPOB.

Atiku might be cumming, Obi might be couping, but it is Tinubu that is ruling with his policies now.

They will surely settle themselves. I pity for those supporting the scam going on in this country. The greatest living enemy of Nigeria today is Yakubu Mamood who organized a coup against Nigerians by imposing Tinubu on the country. Emefele is a lesser devil compared to Yakubu Mamood.

The government should not agree on any plea bargain until when he feels more sober. He must mention all the beneficiaries of the scam. The only God that knows the number of billionaires this man has made at the expense of suffering Nigerians. I know he will get away with it but he must suffer more because the law is not for the rich.

Idiotic cowards trying to find an easy way to save face when they realized they can't successfully prosecute/persecute Emefiele without bringing in Buhari, Dangote, and even themselves because they are all connected in one way or the other in the plundering and decimating of our commonwealth.

Why aren't they touching or changing the "Northern Eye and their representative" at the Northern Nigerian Petroleum Company PLC Owner Company of the disguised Dangote Refinery?

If only just 10% of Nigerians were truly aware of the rot and hopelessness in this cesspit called a nation, the much-touted revolution would have long happened.

As it is, in a very short time, that is if they haven't started at it yet, these our roguish politicians will be the ones to be lending money by proxy and claim it is from the World Bank or IMF to the FG, SG, and LGs who would be using mineral resource-filled lands as collateral for such loans because they have become so rich that they would have nothing better to do with the money.

It is a hopeless situation.

If indeed Emefiele is on a plea bargain because of #6.9B. What is #6.9B to give up when one can steal times 5 of that and subsequently surrender to give up 20% of it for a time of persecution/prosecution as this?

Your power is nothing if your people can't get quality education
Your power is nothing if your people keep dying of disease and starvation
Your power is nothing if your people have no peace
Your power is nothing if your people cannot live in unity

Only God can judge you now x4

Exactly what Tinubu settled for when he was arraigned before the Chicago district court over Drug dealing allegations.

Yet the same Corn-demic Army that keeps arguing that he committed no offence, are here already hanging Emefiele for taking the same route..πŸ˜‚!

This country na cruise, gaskiya!!
