President Bola Tinubu has said the country could not continue to service its debt with 90 percent of its revenue.

He noted that the country was headed for destruction should that continue.

Tinubu spoke during the Annual Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association on Sunday in Abuja.

He said his administration must make difficult changes to better the lots of the country.

Tinubu said, “Can we continue to service external debts with 90% of our revenue? It is a path to destruction. It is not sustainable. We must make the very difficult changes that are necessary for our country to get up from slumber and be respected among the great nations of the world.

“To build a great nation, we must make bold decisions; even though it may be painful at the moment, it is not about you and me. It is about our generation yet unborn.”

Tinubu, who said there is hope for a great Nigeria, called for the cooperation and support of the private sector.

He said, “Yes, it is a shame not to have adequate electricity for the mass majority of homes in Nigeria and to power our industries. How can we address poverty without electricity? We can take many people out of poverty with an uninterrupted electricity supply. Poverty is not acceptable, and we must banish it.

Speaking on the epileptic power supply in the country, the president described the situation as shameful.

He, however, promised that his administration would ensure that Nigeria generates and distributes the electricity the economy requires to thrive.

Tinubu said, “Yes, it is a shame not to have adequate electricity for the mass majority of homes in Nigeria and to power our industries. How can we address poverty without electricity? We can take many people out of poverty with an uninterrupted electricity supply. Poverty is not acceptable, and we must banish it.”

On remuneration for judicial officers, Tinubu stated that true justice reform must begin with world-class salaries and benefits for legal professionals in Nigeria.

The NBA President, Yakubu Maikyau, SAN, expressed the confidence of the NBA in the ability of President Bola Tinubu to deliver good governance to Nigeria because of his pedigree and past track record of excellent performance in Lagos State, where he was the governor between 1999-2007.

“President Tinubu got it right in Lagos, and it is our considered expectation that as President of Nigeria, you will not only replicate your achievements in Lagos but surpass them for our country.”

It is today you know. Meaning, you are wicked for tolerating all the wayward and wicked borrowing policies of the Buhari government whom you proudly said you made president because of your Inordinate ambition just like the fuel subsidy issue.

And your government is already borrowing monies to give new senators an undeserving $70B for God-knows-what while looting others as 8k paltry palliative?

But government subsidy can stay? that is why the presidency still has over 10 presidential jets that gulp hundreds of billions every year, senate gulps over a trillion every year and other numerous spendings for govt officials gulping trillions, if they were removing subsidy for the people, they should have removed for the govt too, so that we can save more as they claim, abi is saving not the target again?

Oga, you have been deceived......

ORIENTATION101:
Tinubu have not borrowed any money yet.

If they borrow, will you know?
If AkpabiOLE was not drunk, would you know about the 'holiday allowance'?
Where were you when the Nigerian Foreign Reserves was used as callateral?
All the money BUHARIDIOT AND DANGOLEEE stole via 'borrowing' did you know? cheesy

Your next 20 generations will not finish paying the interest on the loans. . . not to mention the loan itself.
Enjoy!

You can't service debt with revenue but you and your gang can live large on our revenue. The people are suffering and are told to endure while "mail of prayers" are distributed among yourselves. Palliative we thought will be tangible, was just nothing. After everything they will loot the money.

If you need better sure palliative, just install palmpay and input the invitation code KZLX8458 and get up to 10k. When you use the code you get a welcome bonus. Make we use this one as palliative.100% paying and legit
Palmpay is a digital bank, where you can save money and also earn money. You are rewarded with airtime regularly.

Just too ridiculous

If we are not expected to be borrowing unnecessary, that means we need to generate our money locally through taxation majorly

Bola Tinubu, blame yourself for forming the APC alliance which threw Nigeria on the path of servicing debts with 90% of national income.
A foresighted man would not form such an alliance.

Nigeria has been in shambles even before the new president was elected.

Getting the country right is not a day job.

Our mentality as citizens needs to change too.
