That's the military... In the NPF, the race starts from the CP-cadre.
Hafiz Inuwa was promoted CP on Oct 31, 2017.
Bode was promoted CP on 07/06/2018.
Jitoboh in 2016.
Dan-Mallam (a former ADC to President Obasanjo from 1999-2010) was promoted CP on April 6, 2016.

Egbetokun was promoted CP on 29/09/2020.

So, they are all seniors to him.

The person above should know it didn't start with Buhari. It has been the norm, though not really advisable. During IBB's time, he retired DIG Parry Osayande and DIG Chris Omeben just to pave way for AIG Mohammadu Gambo as substantive IGP. Buhari did it. It is not good. Succession to IGP should be in order of seniority without political inputs. That would make the Police force independent of the presidency.

IBB's time, this is using dictatorship to defend the ills of a supposed democracy.

Whats wrong with using Umaru Musa Yar Adua's decision to allow the most senior to take over?
