Early Life and Education

Dr. Adebayo Adepoju, commonly known as Ibarapakan, is a Nigerian statesman and philanthropist who comes from the city of Igboora.

Dr. Adepoju’s paternal lineage can be traced to the famous Jagun family of Iberekodo, while his maternal ancestry is rooted in the Jegun family of Oke-Iserin, Igboora.

Presently, Dr. Adepoju serves as the Honourable Member representing Ibarapa Central/North Federal Constituency of Oyo State and the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character.

Dr. Adepoju has experience diverse sectors, which include Project Management, IT Auditing, scholarly pursuits, and expertise in the realm of work-family conflicts.

Dr. Adepoju has a Doctorate in Business Management from the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University. He also has an MBA, an MSc in Management with a focus on Project Management, a BSc in Accounting, a PGD in Financial Management, in addition to HND and OND degrees in Accounting.

Dr. Adepoju is affiliated with the Project Management Professionals (PMP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He is also a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, The Society for Collegiate Leadership and Achievement (SCLA), the Golden Key International Honour Society, and the Ibadan Polo Club.

Career

Within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Adepoju is recognized as a dependable, reliable, and industrious member. He firmly aligns himself with Governor Seyi Makinde political ideology and possesses notable accomplishments in academia, philanthropy, and professional pursuits.

As an adept political strategist, business manager, and project management professional, he makes substantial contributions to Nigeria's continually evolving political landscape.

Dr. Adebayo Adepoju has previously held the position of Chairman of the Water Corporation of Oyo State. Prior to this role, he earned acclaim and commendations for his transformative leadership and global influence through various positions, including roles at Adegoke Steel Industry in Ibadan and Dish Network in Denver, Colorado. He has also served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Clearview Networks in the United States.
