This is even as the department has also provided some financial palliatives to its staff to cushion the effect of the removal of fuel subsidy to ensure that they discharge their official responsibilities happily in the face of the present serious financial challenges.

While presenting the office tables to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sunday Elom, the Head, Department of Chemistry, Prof. Nwabueze Elom noted that it was the second time they were making such donation due to their passion and determination to support the vision of the University.

He stated that the desire was to ensure that every staff of the Chemistry department has good furniture in their offices to enable them discharge their duties in a conducive work environment, adding that the fund used in purchasing the 12 office tables were part of the proceeds from the sale of Chemistry practical manuals.
