The Honourable Minister of Women Affairs Barr Uju Kennedy Ohanenye Attends the Roundtable of African women leaders Network which took place in Abuja,Nigeria.

The Programme was centered on Priority actions on ending violence against women and girls and increasing women's representation in democratic governance for AWLN in Collaboration with the UN women and other critical stakeholders and also to identify actions for joint advocacy on ending violence against women and women's leadership with specified target stakeholders.

Dr Mrs Fumilayo who was a keynote speaker who discussed extensively on the topic also asked on how can we go beyond the Mere articulations and law,what safe measures could we adopt to ensure equitable opportunity to maximize full potentials.She advised on the need for we the collaborators to stick together and expand the oil steering community including those in the private sector .

H.E Erelu Bisi fayemi who was also the Guest speaker spoke on Women's high level advocacy to secure political will in support of policies to be domesticated in different states.In her speech,she Advocated for Capacity Building among women and the increase of allocation for the ministry of Women Affairs for Gender equality Coordinating Mechanism in various states across the federation."The reconstitution of Taskforce on Gender violence as implementation framework will give he campaign a right direction" she said

Honourable Minister Barr Uju Kennedy Delivered her speech in the Programme by Underlining her agenda in the office which are Economic Empowerment,Increasing Women Participation in governance,campaign against Female Mutilation and Gender based violence.The Minister talked about the introduction of Mobile Courts as follow up mechanism and punish violators.In her speech,a propers Awareness Programme and sensitization will be done thoroughly across the nation.This policy are part of the agenda the Minister will be campaigning to have a better Nigeria were the women society can thrive.
