So when u have say an Ellipse problem for example , you just compare the exercise with the GENERAL FORMULA FOR THE Ellipse FAMILY and determine axis, length, etc projected from general formula

Math is even better, those people doing physics I respect them a lot. The math there is just so crazy and all the proofs. The stress the course put u through isn't worth the certificate u get at the end.

Differential Trigonometry. They suffered us architectural students with maths 201 which contains differential equations including Trigonometry. Normal differential equation was hard enough, but differentiation of trigonometry to me was like magic.

As an Engineering graduate, those iteration, Laplacian jacobian theorem were a work over to me. Even fourier series, etc.all succintly and explicitly covered in Engineering mathematics volume l and two and l was exceptionally bright. I could compete with pure maths graduate or pure physics graduate over any topic in maths or physics.
But l ran away from classroom in my NYSC days and found myself one posh tech company for the technical practical side. If na by theory, An Engineer specialised in physical engineering fields must marry mathematics and physics. Although the chemical enginèering graduates have a special knack for chemistry.; Whatever field of engineering, HAVING KNACK FOR SOLVING ADVANCED MATHEMATICS IS A MUST

I started hating on Mathematics when I discovered it's more than plus and minus...

Multiplication and division we can deal with (I'll really be crazy not to know 2x1 is 2 ) but the troublemakers had to add several other magics to it all. I nearly faint when Trigs and Calculus and their problematic significant others became part of my problems.

Lazyman like me. I managed to put trig in its place but calculus and the other abstracts almost made this daddy go crazy...

Lebesgue integration, that course nearly run me mad, thank God I conquer it. Those mathematician that brought in that subject supposed to rethink before going to that extra length. The theorems in that course is something else and the worst of it is that you must state the theorem before you can start your work. Imagine having grey hair at a age below 40years

I particularly remember this "Mantissa" cause we used it as a nickname for our replacement teacher who started us on the topic. The way he always called the mantissa word with emphasis, made the class amusing.

We called him mantissa to the point one of the regular classroom "back benchers", called the man the name to his face. The outcome was not funny.
