Because they are in churches believing that God will do it.
When even Israel herself are working hard to achieve these

The average farmer is illiterate

Don't need literacy for what is needed

and depends on the government for everything.

This is the problem

If the government didn’t need to provide machinery,

They don't just like they don't need to provide uber or Okada for private businesses

they wouldn’t do it to begin with.

Aaahhh
You're an AwoofIan
Gotcha
You just want your share not a solution

Northern governors especially give out one or at most a handful of tractors to their constituents. Not an impressive feat when larger machines are needed. At the very least, give out twenty tractors to make a mark on production.
why should they
What will happen if they don'

Any farmer waiting for Awoof deserves whatever he gets

Was it like that 50yrs ago? Nigeria supports Dangote to supply Nigeria...yall already screaming he is Fulani...We have people that can do stuff...but will they even give them land in some parts of the country.

AntiTerrorist:
The difference is that whites always think big. Fortunately, they have resources to actualize their dream. 100 farmers in US can feed entire Nigeria.

It is not easy at all. Farming requires lots of money.

The problem is not farming and farmers but how to use the bye product of farming.
We farm for primary consumption only.

Meaning that half of the farm products go to waste so most time no profit and its discouraging private sector to invest in farming. Large scale farming has nothing to do with govt funding. Its strictly private but what do we do with those farm products like tomatoes peppers etc.

Let me show you four diff ways tomatoes are preserved.
See the same tomatoe, diff ways of preservation.
There are more.
That is where the money is not farming. Even onions, pepper, name any farm produce.
Non is wasted. U have these all yr round.

This my dear is our problem. We rather import this than make it happen in Nigeria. You know why?
It doesn't give quick money.

We are called the world's number one consumer country for a reason.

Low self esteem has reduced us to tribalists and haters of one another and the fathers of psychology are still using that to exploit us.
Leave matter pls.

Yet those who eat the so called gm food live more than hundred yrs and exploit better than you. You depend on them for the air you breath.
An average life span of men in Nigeria is not up to 60yrs with your organic. You guys are so lazy to effect changes. The world has moved on. We can't even invent new cuisines.
Failed people. So ashamed

Government support. Most of those plantations aren’t maintained using hoes and axes. Heavy machinery which our leaders refuse to purchase in bulk are heavily utilized.
The wait for leaders to provide machineries for you before you farm. 90% of the farms you see in developed countries, are owned by private or individual entities. Government no get hand for their farm.

Government no get hand for their farming you said? What about good security, good standard road, stable electricity, stable economy (where prices of things remain the same for years) and other good farming aiding policies their government established? You think these things are not forms of government hand in their farming?

Now, the question is on a rating, has Nigerian government been ( sincere and wholeheartedly ) able to provide 40% of these facilities mentioned earlier to farmers? :Your answer is as good as mine which is capital NO.
