Not all the time. Do you know how to know a rich man with no power? He makes a lot of noise to flaunt his wealth. Because he has acquired the wealth and hasn’t got the power he craves.

People with both power and wealth are not loud.

Power comes from influence and relevance but if you have money but no influence and relevance, you are just a rich man.

When I say influence I mean you are relevant in your sector. For instance you are a successful farmer and a big player in rice farming. You are rich and you are powerful because of your influence in that sector not because you are rich. If they are talking rice they must talk to you…..that is the source of your power not your money.

That is the mistake people make, they have money but they have no influence so they have no power and start throwing money around.

Dangote is not powerful because he is rich, Dangote is powerful because he controls many sectors of the economy….understand the difference. Like I said there are many 419s, drug dealers who are rich. It did not end at that. The man was sent to prison and probably spent up to 10 years there. Upon his release, he fled overseas.
