I'm a very frequent flyer on Delta flights from Lagos to Atlanta .

I asked their boss one day how come they are still in the old terminal while others have moved to the new terminal which is better and more modern.

His answer is just that they were being lazy about it and don't want to spend money to make the move.
Does that make any sense to us the traveling population?

No it doesn't it.

If Hartfield airport in Atlanta ask any airline to move, regardless of the cost, then they must move asap.
I'm glad that they are making them all.move.

How can you properly renovate the old terminal if normal operations are still ongoing on daily basis.
Even the old terminal cannot accommodate such huge planes adequately.

Delta flies A320 but once we land,we are always told to remain seated because they have to tow the plane to the last 100 meters before we can disembark.

So that's just an excuse.

MMIA Terminal 2 though modern in terms of aesthetics, is badly located and smaller in terms of passenger capacity than the older terminal.


Second, there is no large area of land to build any more airport in
Lagos State. The only proposed new airport initiated by Lagos State in the Lekki-Epe axis hasn't taken off but a lot of precious ancestral homelands were taken from the indigenes.


More than 90 percent of the total land mass of the current Lagos State was on May 27, 1967 carved out of what is now Ogun State (then part of the Old Western Region).

Ogun State has more land closer to
Lagos State to build a standard international airport if they want to.

I think that the Lekki airport idea should be canceled. That area will be too congested with any airport. I'm from that area, so I'm Very aware of what's going on there.

I know that the president has many other issues 5o deal with but building a world class international airport in Ogun state should be a priority.

This is rhe easiest way yo open up Nigeria to the world with an international world class airline.

Other countries have tried it and it works.

Connect the rail system to the new airport to go to all parts of the country.

Festus Keyamo's mother is originally from the Ilaro axis of Ogun State, but his father is Urhobo from Delta State, so it should be easier as a matter of urgency to approve and further upgrade the new International Cargo and Passenger Airport in the Remo axis of Ogun State to decongest MMIA.

Link with a rail system like you said and voila... Economic boom and the ease of doing business improves by several notches.
