mcquin: ^^^ To say Tinubu has been "impressive" is a strong claim that so far isn't supported by the evidence. His two major policies on fuel import subsidies and foreign exchange rate deregulation - have started to unravel. You know this. On the medical tourism thing...its still early days. A hundred days after being sworn in, Buhari hadn't gone anywhere for treatment. His 'problems' began in mid-2016 and got progressively worse. No one knows for sure how things will turn out (health wise) for Tinubu. Only time will tell. |

mcquin: ^^^ Your competence 'indicators' are rather unusual. Direct engagement with labour unions? What exactly are the results of this 'direct' engagement? The same engagement that has led to accusations by labour of bad faith on government's part? Appointing 'young liberal' people across the board? OK. Let's see actual results before we can conclude on this youthful liberalism (whatever that means). Your argument is also severely diminished when you speak as if there has been a change from the regionally concentrated security architecture of the Buhari years. Has anything really changed - except that a new 'region' is now in charge? Making strong pronouncements on coups in Africa? This is perhaps the most glaring of this administrations inadequacies. This administration's delay in appointing a foreign minister cost us dearly when the coup in Niger took place. Tinubu rashly issued a 7 day ultimatum to the junta in Niger - an ultimatum they simply ignored. That was several weeks ago. How does that make ECOWAS/Nigeria look? And you want us to be placated by pronouncements? He "backtracked" on the 8k palliative. What alternative did he provide and how has it been managed or executed? What is the 'street' saying on this matter? Just like you, I could go on and on. The administration is failing and failing hard. As a matter of life and death, it should have started work immediately on the Oronsaye and Joda reports but it studiously ignored these Reports (that would have trimmed our corpulent federal bureaucracy) and instead went in hard for measures that have now backfired spectacularly. As we speak, it is clear even to the blind that some form of fuel import subsidy has quietly been re-introduced. What then was the point of all this immense suffering for the past 100 days? |

mcquin: ^^^ This constant comparison with Buhari will do more harm than good - because both administrations are very much alike. Since you want to bring Buhari into the mix, who is your minister of Petroleum at the moment? mcquin: ^^^ This administration is going down the same path. mcquin: ^^^ Buhari again? Ok. |
