I had already planned to purchase the PS5 or Xbox series X but I decided otherwise at the moment. My reason been that I have read about experiences of some users on subreddits where they complained about the systems shutting down due to overheat during game play. Not the kinda thing you wanna experience after forking out a lot of money for a console.

There are many videos and guides out there on how to deal with such issues but still doesn't make sense to me.

I already have a PS4 and a switch Oled. Both have been running smoothly without issues

Those that have any of these consoles can you share your experience with them so far.

I don't think it's wise to determine the result of an item based on bad or good reviews from less than 1% of users. I mean, companies have sold these items on millions, and the people who complain of issues isn't even up to 1%. My personal Series X is like 2years old and counting.

I've seen people purchase a console, then proceed to keep it is poorly ventilated area (facedown, too close to a wall, or on a rug). It's a powerful machine that needs all the air it can get to cool off (that's like building a custom gaming PC without installing at least 3 fans to draw cool air and dispense hot air)

Oh and when it comes to user reviews of items, I'll advice ignoring reddit, because while it's a great platform to get good advice about tech from Professionals, I've personally seen some dumb shit there
People purchase consoles and keep it back-down, therefore totally blocking the air vents, then come straight to reddit to complain and talk literal shit
