In his maiden address at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York City, President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria raised alarm over the issue of illegal foreign mining operations in the country.

The event, which will run until the 26th of September, saw the Nigerian leader highlighting several points crucial to his administration and the African continent.

President Tinubu spoke candidly about Nigeria’s national security, stating that foreign entities, often Chinese firms, in collusion with local criminals, have been exploiting Nigeria’s mineral resources.
