From above, one can see that the current Nigerian leader is sure to go to jail as soon as the courts in US compels CSU to release Tinubu's certificate. Then again, we are in Nigeria where justice is a "cash and carry" affairs.

In 2000 or there about a one time NASS speaker, Salisu Buhari of the House of Representatives of Nigeria resigned from office over allegations of certificate forgery. He was later convicted of certificate forgery and sentenced to two years in prison with an option of a fine. He paid the fine and was later pardoned by President.

In Anambra, Ifeanyi Ubah, senator representing Anambra South and candidate of the Young Peoples Party (YPP) was sacked from the Senate over allegations of certificate forgery. His NECO results were forged.

Kemi Adeosun's case was a celebrated one. She was disgraced out of office for forging NYSC certificate.

In Bayelsa, the case is even more dramatic and serious. David Lyon was declared governor-elect. However, 48 hrs to his swearing in the Supreme Court invalidated his election due to discrepancies in his running mate certificates.

These are just a few. So, one can begin to understand what irreparable damages Tinubu may face once the US court orders the release of his academic records.

First, the Nigeria Supreme court that nullified Ifeany Ubah's election, the same Supreme court that invalidated David Lyon election would be be boxed into a tight corner to save Tinubu

Second, Tinubu has amassed all his wealth since 1998, using forged certificates First as senator, then governor and till today. Hence all he has acquired could be construed as "proceeds of crime". Aside being jailed, his proceeds of crime would totally revert to government assets.

Thirdly, Tinubu would go down as the first president to be removed from office and jailed.

Then again, like I mentioned earlier, in Nigeria, justice is a "cash and carry" business.
