The Federal Government has declared that the proposed Abuja-Lagos superhighway will be completed by 2027.

Minister of Works Dave Umahi, while addressing newsmen in Lagos on Saturday, stated that the proposed 470-kilometre highway will last 100 years.

He further disclosed that the road, which would be built by a private sector consortium at no cost to the Federal Government, will pass through Kogi, Ekiti, Oyo, Lagos, Ogun, Niger, Kwara, and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

He added: “Many doubting Thomases were saying ‘it is impossible when I first introduced this to the public. Abuja-Lagos, that is done in 14 hours, can’t be done in four and a half hours. That is the renewed hope of President Tinubu.

“The President has approved that I fast-track this project. This project is going to be two lanes, but each lane is going to be a two-carriage way, and it is going to be 14 metres.

“The life shelf design of this superhighway is going to be 100 years and be completed in four years. We are not providing any kobo for the project, just assisting with direction.”

Ordinary to dualize from entrance into abkua from outside to inner has not be thoroughly done well since 2005, not even Dantatata and The other contractors have been able to fix that road, not to mention building a super high way within three years. APC and it's propagandarist machine that never lies to continuously manufacture big lies.

I sha hope we won't start hearing another story in 2027

Government should tell us when they will start and finish the construction of some of the horrible federal roads all over Nigeria.
