Gowon on infrastructure and economy

Obasanjo on economy (not completely impressive but he tried)

Buhari; on infrastructure. Completely did well on this with very few resources

Buhari borrowed nearly #70 Trillion and you call that "very few resources"? Where are the infrastructure that worth 5% of that huge amount?

Some of you are too dull.

Buhari didn't borrow such amount of money.

The total borrowings from states and federal government sum that up.

Meanwhile, I will not have to spoonfeed anyone on the infrastructures buhari put in place.

Based on my research and study on this issue, I'll rank them as follow,

ECONOMIC GROWTH.
1. Obasanjo
2. Yaradua
3. Jonathan
Omo you never miss your water till you lose it, this men kept the country economically strong but we no rate them because they were not propaganda inclined.

INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT.
1. Yakubu Gowon
Nobody comes close to Gowon in this area. The Lagos some people use in boasting today was mostly developed by Gowon, this include:

the first and second mainland bridges,

the national theatre,

national stadium Lagos,

road projects to different parts of the country,

he built the warri Kaduna and port Harcourt refinaries,

opened and built world-class federal universities according to the standards of that time including uniben my school, the best buildings you will find in this school were the ones he built..

Although many will not agree, Gowon restored the eastern regions losses during the war in the shortest possible time, atleast to a significant extent.. Omo the first time I researched about his administration I was really surprised and impressed

2. Badamosi Babangida..
Started the construction of Aso Rock and also gave us the third mainland bridge.

3. Mohammadu Buhari...

Tried in the area of transportation.. reconstruction of federal highways and airports across the country and rejuvenation of the Nigerian railways.

PEACE AND INTERNAL SECURITY.
1. Abacha
2. Abdusalam Abubakar
3. Buharis military regime.

MOST UNDERRATED PRESIDENT OR HEAD OF STATE.
Gowon and Jonathan.

MOST OVERRATED PRESIDENT OR HEAD OF STATE.
Abacha and Muritala

THE WORST HEADS OF STATE
Shehu Shagari
Ernest Shonekon(can't blame him, but he was just ineffective)

GOATS
Tafawa Balewa, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Obafemi Awolowo And the sadurna of Sokoto, alhaji sir ahmedu bello

Nigerias youth of this internet age don't respect this men.. makes me laugh, until you are faced with same circumstances that they were faced with as early nation builders you'll never understand.
Although it was mostly Azikiwe that had a national outlook to things in this era, you cannot take away the fact that what this men did in their respective regions are still benefiting thier people many years after their death

Ahmedu Bello, strategic north centric ideology seeing that the north was at a disadvantage when compared to the south, he built schools, employed northerners into the civil service in the north, even if they were not as qualified as their southern counterparts he still employed them, they must learn on the job.. this mentality helped the northerners to grow into governance even at the national level.

Awolowo. What more can be said, most if not everything the yorubas have today can be traced back to the foresightedness of Pa. Awolowo.. he built schools and gave his people free primary education. Despite being faced with federal opposition, he performed reasonably well, by sustaining the influence of Yorubas in the country.

As for the east, unfortunately for you guys and fortunately for the entire Nigeria, your patron had a nationalistic outlook to things back then.. from my research I even got to discover that Azikiwe supported Nigeria during the civil war,
Azikiwe brought football to Nigeria, the NFF originated from Azikiwe.
He remains the only leader in Nigeria that spoke Igbo Yoruba and Hausa fluently.
He sought for the unity of the country more than any of the other founding fathers.

He revolutionized the West African newspaper industry, demonstrating that English-language journalism could be successful.

The man was not really concerned about putting Igbos in mainframe politics back then...

If you do proper research, you'll see that he's one of the chief reasons why we still have a country called Nigeria today, the man nor just believe in division at all. lol.. another major reason why Nigeria remained one country was the discovery of oil.
I see zik as a father to Nigeria and I also understood why naming the airport in Abuja and putting him on the 500 naira note was not out of place..
If Awolowo and Belo were a bit like Azikiwe, the term Nigeria would have been more prominent than Igbo Yoruba and Hausa....

Whenever I pass through the independence tunnel in Maryland... And I see the pictures of these great men, I have nothing but respect and admiration for them for giving us a country to call our own.
