This is not entirely true.


Some west African empires were already making some changes to match their trading partners from Europe. Asia and Europe all shared knowledge together which enabled them to grow, this shows that sometimes we need each other to advance technologically.

If Europeans had done the same thing Americans did to Japan here in Africa, empires like Benin empire and Ashanti empire would have caught up with them. If they could stop some Africans from stupid rituals like human sacrifice, they could have done more.

Check out empires like Mali empire which had contact with the middle East and North Africa, they were so developed they pushed back the Portuguese Invaders. When you look at some of these things from a neutral perspective, you'd agree that trading and interaction would have opened Africa to opportunities.

Back then, the Ashanti empire viewed some of Europeans way as unnecessary but managed to send the two princes to school abroad, this should tell you that Africans lived just like every human being. Anyway, it's up to us to do better than our ancestors since we claim they were backward.

You should read about the empires that existed back then, and oh yes, we'd be overpopulated just like every other continent. Remember Europe moved many of their people to other continents, the British moved criminals to other continents like America and Australia.

Imagine if they never did, what's the population of Americans of British descents, Australians, and North Zealand?
