Telecom Service Disruption Imminent As States Threaten Base Station Shutdown by Islie: 10:58am On Sep 26, 2023 |
The fear of imminent blackout of telecommunication services in some parts of the country looms large again as some state governments have sealed or threatened to close down Base Station Transmission (BTS) sites over unpaid taxes allegedly being owed by telecoms operators. https://leadership.ng/telecom-service-disruption-imminent-as-states-threaten-base-station-shutdown/

; Nigerian governors are the best when it comes to misplaced priorities. But we all keep blaming FG if we have up to 10 innovative governors like Lagos state governors in Nigeria. Nigeria won't be as bad as this, the telcos are running almost at no profit because of inflated PMS and diesel prices to power up base stations and most of them can't even afford to pay for full-time engineer service not to talk of paying taxes. PMB administration gave all the state governments independence to generate Power but none of the 35 lazy governors except Sanwo of Lagos that is taking a step to generate power in their respective states, the lazy governors keep building white elephant projects like building airports and malls which is of no value to their citizens. If some of these states have started generating their power businesses like telcos we opt-in for these and reduce their excessive overhead cost like buying diesel, in the long run, the state governments will generate revenue from taxes and power and telcos will employ more graduates in the states. Nigeria state governments are useless , Oyo state governor has also joined the gang. All the roads in Ibadan are in a deplorable state, he is not doing anything about power and the economy development 6 Likes |

Welcome to Nigeria where you pay more than what services you get. Same goes to road worthy payment where we don't have good roads. 2 Likes |

May God deliver Nigeria and make it a better place. The country is not going well, but hypocrites may turn the issue to one or more tribe. Some may say it is caused by Igbos, yoruba, hausa etc. Though we all are guilty in one way or the other, but we should stop being hypocrites, pointing fingers to others when we are not clean. We still have good people in Nigeria. The great Mbaise will make this country great again by God's grace. God bless Yorubas. God bless Hausas. God bless Igbos. God bless Ijaws. God bless every tribe. God bless Mbaise. God bless Nigeria. Check out the pics of these Mbaise men and woman that I copied online. 2 Likes

I really have to make up what resources I need to leave this country. Never liked the idea of selling off landed assets but it seems like that might be my quickest means to achieving sanity. 1 Like |

The likes of hellanus, moh the big boy that lives in a face me I slap you in Abuja and so many of them have exhausted both their propaganda and data. They thought it was the case of arsenal vs man u but they forgot that it is a matter that affects lives. Here in lagos, people are now begging tipper to carry them at a reduced rate. Every day I pray that those who in any little way contributed to the catastrophe in Nigeria today by promoting or voting "our own " will be consumed. 3 Likes |

It’s high time taxes in Nigeria be digitized as well as harmonized. It will bring an end to agberos that harass people in the glorified name of “taskforce”. Also, it will help eliminate multiple taxation that clearly encourages defrauding of citizens. 1 Like |
