Five-year-old Onoja Naomi Ehi representing Benue State in the ongoing National Youth Sports Festival in Asaba Delta State is the youngest Athlete in the seventh edition of the multi-sports festival for U-15 athletes.

Naomi from Team Benue is a basic one
pupil of Ivydoo Nursery and Primary School in Markudi, Benue State.

The young talented kid represented the “Food Basket of the Nations” in the Chess events.

Little Naomi Ehi Onoja caught the attention of the Nigeria Chess Federation with her appearance and performance at the seventh National Youth Games in Asaba and has been invited by the Federation officials as one of the athletes discovered from the games to be groomed as a national athlete for future competitions.

Onoja who will turn 6 years in November 2023 is one of the kids who have made their various states proud despite not being on the podium.


Other young kids in the Youth Games are 6-year-old Lisa Omokorode who represented Kano in Gymnastics, and 8-year-old Beauty Oyero Fumilayo representing Lagos in Golf.

The National Youth Games has seen a lot of Young kids representing different states and winning medals for their teams.

Initiated in 2013, and conceived by the Federal Government under the leadership of His Excellency Dr. Goodluck Jonathan. This multi-sporting event is aimed at discovering and nurturing young talent, providing them with opportunities to excel in various sports disciplines
