23 years ago,in 1988, the SUG president in UNIJOS led a team of students in a protest against the removal of oil subsidy during the regime of the dictator, Ibrahim Babaginda. He termed "A crime against the Nigerian masses and a war against the poor. That SUG president is Mr Labaran Maku, the present minister for information. His new tune is that the removal is long over due.

Inconsistency has been the bane of some of our leaders. Can we now say that his tune has changed because his palms have been greased Or does this also mean that tune would have changed if IBB had greased his palms. I this to you fellow Nigerians

What do u expect?av you forgotten that GEJ was also an ASU exco? I don't like subsidy but they should first tell us what happend to all the billions of dollars meant for infrastructures and give a detailed account for them,if they cant do that then there is no reason for subsidy removal.Even if you put the present day NLC labour leaders in GEJ shoes they will do the same thing as GEJ is doing now.
