Could This Be The Next Scandal Facing Tinubu? by Islamisformumu: 1:32pm On Oct 03, 2023
7 years ago, Bola Ahmed Tinubu in an interview with Premium Times Newspapers, told Nigerians that he made his first millions while working with the globally acclaimed multinational accounting and consultancy firm Deloitte & Touché, sometime in the early 1980s after he allegedly graduated with 1st class honours from the Chicago State University in the year 1979.

However, Deloitte & Touché have since confirmed that they have no data for a person called Bola Ahmed Tinubu on their employment records at the material time in question.

At the time Deloitte made this announcement, Mr Tinubu was in the midst of a hectic campaign in Nigeria's presidential elections, where he emerged victorious and has since been sworn into office.

It is perhaps significant to note that whenever Deloitte's denial of his claims to be their former employee was brought up during the presidential campaign period, Mr Tinubu’s campaign team would either ignore the issue or launch vicious personal attacks into the character of whoever raised the issue. Throughout the campaign period, Mr Tinubu’s campaign team pointedly refused to either deny or confirm Deloitte's official statement that candidate Tinubu never worked for their organisation.

In his recent trip to address the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Mr Bola Ahmed Tinubu now claims that he was trained at Deloitte & Touché as a result of his being a "brilliant student"

The significance of this sudden change in nomenclature by Mr Tinubu from previously referring to himself as an "employee" of Deloitte and Touché to now being a mere "trainee", has not been lost on political commentators and analysts.

Now, there is a world of difference between a paid employee who receives millions of dollars in commissions (which is what Tinubu claimed to be in his 2016 interview with Premium Times) and a mere Industrial Training candidate which seems to be Tinubu’s new mantra now that Deloitte & Touché has denied ever having an employer/employee relationship with him.

Mr Tinubu’s new about turn has further obscured the shroud of mystery surrounding his identity and his antecedents and raised fresh issues

Why have practically ALL the major mainstream Nigerian media platforms for both print and electronic journalism never bothered to carry out any investigations into the glaring discrepancies and inconsistencies emanating from Mr Bola Ahmed Tinubu's constantly changing personal narratives?

A organisational change of name would not affect employment records

Sure however a total buy-out would

Delliote had a merger, was later bought by Haskins, a Japanese company also bought it all within 5 decades

Not even a total buyout can erase a person's employment records.
Those records are legally necessary for tax and pension purposes

US has Tax ID tied to SSN so regardless of how a 50 years old delisted company keeps it database it doesn't matter

Many companies have no public records anymore

In the United States, large companies are required to keep employment records of former employees for a certain period of time as mandated by labor laws and regulations. The specific requirements can vary by country and jurisdiction, but generally, these records include information such as tax forms, payroll records, employment contracts, and personnel files. The retention periods can also vary, but companies typically need to retain these records for several years to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. It's essential for companies to be aware of and adhere to the specific record-keeping requirements in their respective locations.

Many of the paper documents from the past have been digitised. They're usual kept in microfilm and backed up on the main frame belonging them

That's impossible. Nothing, not even the moon falling from the sky can erase employment records, they belong to the U.S. internal Revenue Service, so be a bit more imaginative and conjure up a new story for us, we are singularly entertained.

Don't think you get it, those records are public information and not company information, for taxation purposes. Even if the company packed up a hundred years ago those records will still be available.

Even some court records don't last more than statutory 20 years

They last quite a bit longer than that. In fact, just about the only way to make a court record disappear is to actively(usually with legal assistance) have them expunged by court order, and be prepared to face a lot of static. Bottomline, destruction of public records in the U.S. is something that simply doesn't happen casually as some would have us believe.

The company I work for, some vital mapping system and geo cordinates.we had got lost during digitization to the GE system we currently use. This was something done in the late 90's. I reckon the datas from the 1980s and 1970s would even suffer more.

No need for Deloitte to mask the SSN, it's already public knowledge.

it's SSN: 231-06-0595 and belongs to Bola Adenike Tinubu.

So, officially, the person that got admitted to CSU is a woman and not a man. Forget the barrage of fake news and propaganda that Tinubu e-monkeys have flooded the electronic media with in vain attempt to confuse the public, I eagerly await the outcome of todays deposition at the Illinois court of appeal.

That was one of his reasons for running helter skelter to block the release of his academic records.

His greed is his undoing.

Most people do not realize(especially all those agbado monkeys) that "Tinubu" is in serious trouble. I took a closer look at the subject of todays deposition at that Illinois court that is to happen today and mark my words, by the time this whole thing is over, quite a few staff from the C.S.U will end up in a U.S. prison. This is definitely going to bleed over to the Nigerian space as U.S. media outlets converge on this story, trying to answer how Nigerian corruption managed to find its way into a U.S. institution. Trust me, this matter is not going away anytime soon and heads will roll before its all over.
