What Loud Noise Can Do To Your Health by Naturesfieldng: 4:58pm On Oct 05, 2023
You will concur with me that navigating through congested road traffic can make even the calmest person frustrated, especially when accompanied by loud noise. However, some noise is harmless and even enjoyable, but loud noise can be detrimental to our health in surprising ways you might have never thought of. The following are the effects loud noise can have on your health:

It can lead to mental health issues:

High noise levels can increase the risk of depression, dementia, and anxiety in adults. This is because your brain always monitors your body for signs of danger, even when you’re asleep. Continuous exposure to loud noise increases your sensitivity to stress, leading to feelings of irritation, frustration, and anger.

It slows healing:

Think about the last time you were in a general hospital. You might have heard the sound of a hospital ambulance, loud TV, people talking loudly, etc. Did you know that exposure to loud noise makes healing slower? This is because it disturbs sleep, which is essential for healing.

It can trigger the onset of cardiovascular diseases:

You might have seen a dramatic version of a heart attack where a person, exposed to loud noise, falls to the floor clutching his chest. As fictitious as it may seem, cardiac arrest can be a reality for some people who are constantly exposed to loud noise. Noise is also a risk factor for high blood pressure and diabetes.

Loud noise can be dangerous for pregnant women:

Constant exposure to loud noise can cause harm to the fetus because it can affect your baby’s hearing and cause fetal abnormalities. This is because loud noise can cause hypertension during pregnancy, which is fatal in pregnant women.

HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR OVERALL HEALTH DESPITE THE NOISE

Improving your overall health is vital, regardless of where you live. There are steps you can take to enhance your well-being and ensure your sanity in a noisy environment. These are;

Prioritize quality sleep: Always opt for a quiet and peaceful sleep environment. Consider using earplugs to block out the noise. Ensure your bedroom is dark, cool, and comfortable for optimal rest.
Avoid too much exposure to loud noise: As much as we can’t always have control over being in a noisy environment (if you take public transport in Lagos, you can relate to this), you should try to reduce exposure to loud noise. You can do this by soundproofing your room and reducing the time spent in a noisy area.
Make healthy lifestyle choices: This includes eating a balanced diet, staying physically active, and ensuring that you are properly hydrated. As it is not always easy to eat healthily, you should go for a top-quality supplement from NATURE’S FIELD brand guaranteed not only to fulfill your nutritional needs but also to reduce the development of health conditions.

Noise doesn't get much attention because it doesn’t seem harmful. On the contrary, this list of loud noise effects on your health is not exhaustive. Therefore, you should monitor your health status and limit loud noise as much as possible. If you are saddled with insomnia or chronic stress, stress relieving and sleep aid supplements from NATURE’S FIELD are a sure way to get you back on track and avoid health conditions.
