A 20-year-old man identified as Segun Gabriel is currently in police cell for allegedly defrauding a Point-of-Sale (POS) operator in Ogun State.

The police in Ogun State described Segun Gabriel as “a rogue and a vagabond who specialises in transferring money out of POS accounts using fake alert.”

The boy, who is now detained at the Ajuwon Divisional Police headquarters in the Ifo Local Government Area of the State, was arrested on October 6, 2023.

According to a statement by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, Gabriel had, on October 5, transacted the sum of N40,000 with the victim, “which resulted into a fake inter-bank transfer,” but the POS operator did not notice the loss.

On October 6, Gabriel returned to the same operator to transact the sum of N35,000.

“The victim did not notice the fraud the second time until after the criminal had disappeared into thin air.

“While the victim was on her lawful activities on same date, at about 1630hrs, she was lucky to have sighted the suspect under the bridge in Akute, she raised the alarm attracting passersby who assisted her in arresting Segun Gabriel,” Odutola explained.

The PPRO informed that the police in the area were contacted and Segun was taken to the station.

She added that the suspect is “presently in the police custody giving vital information to the police on how to arrest his accomplices.”

After voting rubbish and defending the certificate forger with empty stomach, they now go back offline and resort to stealing.

I will keep saying it that most people supporting and defending APC are all cr*m*nals, because it takes a criminally minded person to be able to defend the evil party. (Like charges attract one another) Spits.

I don't support stealing, but stealing from low income earners makes my heart bleed.

I even pity d POS operators at these period. They charge #20 for 1k. If u withdrawal in Bank ATM, banks charge #35 per transaction but they won't alert u d deduction or deduct it same hour.

When it comes to recognizing someone, I give it to Yoruba girls, they're extremely good at that, even if it takes a decade. I don't know if it's about Yoruba girls or something generally peculiar to women.

Something happened one day as I was heading to Onitsha from Nnewi, we got to Enamel junction and the Navy guys ordered everyone in our vehicle to come down from the vehicle and walk over to the other side.

we were 4 in the vehicle; I, the Yoruba lady, one other guy and the driver. As we were about entering vehicle, the other guy disappeared and the driver, having waited for the guy for too long, decided to continue the journey with just the three of us. As we were approaching upper iweka, how this Yoruba girl girl sighted and recognized that guy remained a mystery and the driver immediately rushed the guy and demanded for his money.
