Residents Of Ikotun, Ipaja Benefit From RV Foundation’s Medical Outreach by Onikoyioflagos: 7:27am On Oct 13, 2023
Residents of Ikotun and Ipaja area of Alimosho Local Government have benefited from a free medical outreach organised by Rhodes-Vivour Foundation (RV), in partnership with Wellahealth Technologies.

The outreach, which witnessed thousands of people, had the distribution of Health Insurance Cards by WellaHealth to the residents.

The outreach included free medical consultations, treatments, and distribution of essential medicines to residents.

Also, the foundation provided a wide array of medical services such as general check-ups, diagnosis and treatment of common ailments, maternal and child health services, and dental care.

The outreach drew an overwhelming response from the local residents, many of whom face struggles in accessing adequate healthcare due to financial limitations.

People from various socioeconomic backgrounds patiently lined up to avail of the free medical services. This initiative also received support from local community leaders and government representatives.

Executive Director, RV Foundation, Judith Rhodes-Vivour, hinted that the programme was part of the governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour unrelenting commitment to provide quality healthcare service to the people of the state especially vulnerable ones.

Rhodes-Vivour added that the foundation would tour the different local government areas in the state for medical outreach, while distributing the health insurance and free drugs.

She said: “The idea behind the RV foundation medical outreach is to get people to be more conscious about their health and provide healthcare services to the people, especially the vulnerable ones.

We put up a plan where medical insurance cards are given to the people to be used for three months free of charge. The beneficiaries can use the services of this medical insurance as it affords them the opportunity for medical checkups and consultation free of charge when the need arises.

According to her, high blood pressure is the leading cause of death among adults, adding that regular check ups can help to avert some critical conditions of blood pressure that may lead to death.

“Every family is supposed to have the BP testing apparatus to enable them maintain a regular check of their BP status. This is because high blood pressure as a silent killer is the leading cause of death now.”
