Child dedication. Should a child be deducted to a God or gods without their consent?

In modern society there is nothing like child dedication, Similar to other form of child rituals and tribal mark. And These modern children are far ahead and better to all the children from regions where they still practice child dedication and other form of rituals during a new born child.

Should not a child grow up and decide for themselves. Why does the parents have to dedicate the child to idols, tribal mark and or rituals. Most of this child grow up to be something else.

I know its out of fear and protection due to many negative and religious beliefs but the regions that practice all of this for many years are still far behind and not any better.

You've already used the word child, why then do you expect their consent when you've acknowledged that they're children.

It's like asking if a child should be enrolled in school when he/she comes of age without their consent. Then you go on to argue that what if the child doesn't want to attend school or has better plans for himself upon attaining maturity.

A child is called a child because he/she is dependent on an adult for survival. And that adult would do whatever they feel is best for the child.

If you don't like church, when you're old enough to afford a place of your own, you can stop attending. No one would question you. If your spouse is in support, you can even choose not to dedicate your kids to any church, idol...etc.

But you should note that parents would always do what they feel is best for their kids.

Which modern society? No be me attend the baptism of the child of an English couple here in Cambridge, today?

Even the United Nations Human Rights acknowledges “the rights of parents to freedom of religion or belief include their rights to educate their children according to their own conviction and to introduce their children to religious initiation rites.” It is left for the government of each country to ensure that those religious initiation rites do not endanger the wellbeing of the child and when such child grows up, has the right to discontinue that religious pathway.
