Nigerian actor Digidi DunHill has publicly chastised Mr Ibu’s wife, accusing her of profiting from her husband’s illness.

The disputed remarks shed light on a problematic scenario involving veteran Nollywood actor Mr Ibu, real name John Okafor.

DunHill voiced concern about how Mr Ibu’s illness was being managed and cautioned against marrying someone who seeks financial gain from their spouse’s illness.

He disclosed that actors and friends had already contributed over N40 million for Mr Ibu’s medical treatment before the involvement of Mr Ibu’s wife became public.

Furthermore, Digidi DunHill questioned the wife’s motives in handling the monies raised for her husband’s medical care.

He said that all of the money was being placed into Mr. Ibu’s account, but the wife wanted control.

In the actor’s words;

“The only thing that I will say about my friend Ibu. NEVER MARRY A WIFE THAT WANTS TO GET RICH WITH YOUR SICKNESS. He should have over #40million raised by actors and friends even before her noise and rants. Kate Henshaw may not say it but I am not Kate, I am Digidi and will say it bluntly as it is.

“She is not just happy that every money is paid into Ibu account..She wants to be incharge of all the money given for his health.We have not seen her in any events hosted in his honour by Actors .She is working with Jasmine that is claiming to be his daughter but she is not, they want to generate pity for money.

“They know exactly what they are doing. The night that we celebrated Ibu last month in Abuja, between 7pm and 11 pm #millions of Naira was raised..This was within hours and not in days. She should stop painting Ibu picture as if he is a pauper, a phone call from Johny B Good will raise millions withing hours.

“What happened to Ibu BMW X6 and other cars? Who sold them? Does he have any car now? What happened to his prestigious office @ Amuwo Odofin we’ve had meetings? It is just a question. Some of us know how she lived with him in Satellite town. I DIDN’T WANT TO TALK ABOUT THIS BUT FOR RECORD PURPOSES, ACTORS GUILD HAVE SUPPORTED HIM FOR LONG WITHOUT PUBLISHING IT. No matter how love catch you reach,make sure you don't ever end up marrying a money monger, they'll prioritize money more than your life n wellbeing.

He should have kept the amount already raised private and still make his point, I just hope people won't be discouraged from contributing more to help the hailing actor either because of the alleged greedy attitude of his wife or indiscretion of a colleague

He has been sick for long and may have exhausted his resources which may not be surprising, he has always claimed he was poisoned

Mr. Ibu is critical sick. I believe the money should be in his caregiver's account, in this case, his wife. If there are bills to pay you don't expect someone who is critical sick be struggling with bank app, that's if he will be able to hold phone or remember his password.
