The fact is everything oil exploration is transacted in USD. The dangote in question built his refinery with USD loans and projections.
We should all blame NNPC and not the private oil exploration firms. Is NNPC sayings they can't explore oil and supply these refineries on their own?
Why force private business that buy everything and equipment in USD? Even payment of staff salaries and expatriates is in USD.

A slippery slope... cash crop farmers, solid minerals miners etc will start demanding dollar payment as well, economy becomes dollarized.

Naira is legal tender

I am sure when the FG sold d oil fields licenses to the oil companies, d payment was made in dollar and nobody saw it as being wrong. The equipment were mostly bought and imported into the country through dollar transactions while these companies have lots of expatriates whose salaries they pay in dollar. Now that the companies are saying they want their payment to be in dollars, we are now waking up to say it’s wrong. Patriotism should start from the FG then the citizens won’t have any choice than to fall in line.

The level of unpatriotic doings by everyone is mind boggling, no wonder why our currency is struggling against the dollar but when are we going to wake up and start doing the right things by making sure all things Nigerian come first?

First there was a report that we were experiencing a crude glut as we couldn't find buyers for our crude. Next came the report that Dangote and other local Refineries were yet to start production because they can't get crude supply. Who is deceiving who?? If Dangote refinery needed crude supply why isn't the govt diverting the ones being produced to these refineries since they can't sell the ones they already have except it's all cock and bull story as usual

And now we are seeing a report that local crude producers are asking for dollar payment. From who?? Are they producing and selling to the govt? If they are then shouldn't they be paid in dollars seeing that they are exporting We are all just deceiving ourselves in this country

I believe this is the sole reason NNPC has not supplied Dangote refinery crude oil.
Dangote wants to blackmail NNPC
This is unacceptable and unpatriotic if Dangote refinery

Why should the local crude producers be demanding to be paid in dollars, are we spending dollars in the local market or as our money become too useless to that extent?

With this kinda decision naira won't appreciate if we keep on with this

Was it your local Naira that was used to set up the oilfield? Didntvthey pay in dollars for the oil license?
Re: Local Crude Producers Demand Payment In Dollars by AK481(m): 7:07am On Nov 03, 2023
Hmmm.

This government have gone full capitalist and no pity for its citizens, not even yoruba ronus.

One will expect a quota of crude oil be reserved for local refining at cheaper than international price as incentives and cheaper fuel .

But no, the citizen must suffer so that baba sope can ride in his yacht with Brazilians girls.

Crude Oil is an international transaction, not matter how local you see it.

Why should i sell to you in Naira, when my business spreadsheet and expenditures is calculated in dollars

Go over seas and set up shop there so you can be charging in dollars.
If you decide to setup shop here, you must collect Naira.

Every crude oil business all over the world is traded in dollars. What made dollar strong today is because crude oil is traded in it. Stop displaying your ignorance in public.

Little by little, we dollarize the Nigerian economy. It's an inevitable outcome of a fragile economy that can't and may never stand on its feet in the short and long term. This is the near end of Nigerian as we know it, as we see the aftermath of the agbado presidency.
don't politicize everything sir else the aim of those guys asking for dollars will be achieved and it will bounce back on everyone.the law of the land does not support paying in dollars for goods purchase in the country

No matter how international it maybe, there is always equivalent of the transaction in Naira, we can't be struggling with paying other country in dollar and also be struggling the same thing inside

Any producer that demands for dollars should be arrested, JAILED and that producing company SHOULD BE REPOSSESSED BY GOVERNMENT.

I got nothing to prove to you, we all read news and know how the FG operates when it comes to bidding fees for operating licenses in different sectors in Nigeria.

This is just a typical way of the FG :

https://www.arise.tv/nigeria-to-auction-two-additional-5g-licences-for-547-2m/#:~:text=The%20Nigerian%20Communications%20Commission%20(NCC,%24273.60%20million%20for%20each%20licence.

Now if this network companies come out to say their charges will be in dollar, are we to totally blame them?
