HOW WAS YOUR DAY?

What do they call familiarity again?

It's being close to someone, having a close intimacy. Yes, it's good to be familiar with people, and yes, it's important to have a close relationship with people.

But can I tell you that there are some set of people you should not be overfamiliar with?

Don't be overfamiliar with someone you call a mentor, don't be overfamiliar with someone you call a leader, don't be overfamiliar with someone you call a teacher.

Why? It's quite possible that you take someone that you are overfamiliar with for granted, which will lessen the effect of their words on you.

A change in how you perceive them. If you are not careful, what is called "SEE FINISH" will come to who you are trying to learn from.

To avoid over-familiarity, set boundaries. Even though the person you want to learn from may not set these boundaries personally, set boundaries in your mind. "This and this I won't do."

Then you can be able to maximize every value you get from them well.

Bonus Tip: Yoruba will say this, but I'll translate it into English. "A CHILD THAT KNOWS HIS WAY PROPERLY WILL DINE WITH THE ELDERS." But dear child, know this, that even though people afar see you dining with elders and will call you an elder, which is true, there is nothing you can do about it. But never call yourself an elder in the midst of those elders because you are still a child to them. ✌️
