I'm so happy for Ms Iweala. I thank God she managed to escape Nigeria with her life and dignity intact and carry on to greater heights. As can be read on this thread, there are still Nigerians who deny all the good Ms Iweala and Presidents Obasanjo & Jonathan did for Nigeria. These are people who use telecoms services in Nigeria, many who use cement for building projects, people who use modern banking services. How did President Obasanjo and his advisers like Ms Iweala turn around the comatose telecoms, fertilizer, cement and banking industries? Very simple - they sold off and privatized all government owned companies, and also deregulated prices and cancelled subsidies in those areas of the economy. In doing that, they also drastically reduced corruption in those areas, or at least reduced the cost of corruption to the government purse. And MANY crazy dudes on this forum and in real life keep asking for the PRACTICAL RESULTS of subsidy removal. These are results that stare us in the face EVERY DAY. Nigeria has gone from perennial cement and fertilizer scarcity to becoming an exporter of both commodities! This isn't a matter for long grammar and debate. Privatization and deregulation of prices worked. Again I say it's in your face EVERY DAY. Right now at this moment, BUA and Dangote are engaged in a price war, so the sad situation of Nigeria having the most expensive cement in the world may be ending. That's a result of removing government ownership and subsidies from the cement industry. It brings COMPETITION. Anyone with a working brain should remember or read up how the EXACT same scenario played out in the telecoms industry as Globalcom took on MTN with per second pricing. Both BUA and Dangote bought formerly government owned cement factories. All these privatized and deregulated sectors employ tens of thousands of Nigerians. They pay taxes. I truly can't comprehend why supposedly educated Nigerians can't understand simple things like this. It's just crazy 🤪 Just look at how Nigerians denigrate Ms Iweala. A woman who voluntarily returned from the USA to help Nigeria. She was accused of all sorts of crimes and corruption, none of which is true. And people wonder why I'm totally against anyone returning to Nigeria from abroad. If this high level woman was treated so badly, you can imagine what ordinary returnees suffer at the hands of their family and countrymen in general. I remember Ms Iweala in late 2011, shedding tears on National TV and begging Nigerians to support the withdrawal of fuel subsidies. I clearly remember her saying something like - "We love you. You are our people and we don't want you to suffer." I'm so happy I was alive and living in Nigeria at the time, I saw the obstinate foolishness of Nigerians in all its repulsive glory. They rejected Ms Iweala and the government she served. And elected those who claimed "there is nothing like fuel subsidy, fuel subsidy doesn't exist" 🙄 So an unaffordable fuel subsidy was continued and Nigeria went back to borrowing dollars to buy petrol for Nigerians. It's simply tragic. You can't make this crap up. Absolutely DISGUSTING. And now everything she predicted has come to pass. The fuel subsidy has bankrupted Nigeria. And those responsible are the ones in government today, elected and re-elected by the very Nigerian people who're being pauperized I say it again, you can't make this up!!! And now she's dancing 💃 Who lost? Nigeria missed a golden opportunity to START the journey to becoming a developed middle income country. Instead it has ended up as The Poverty Capital of the World. That’s as stark a difference as anyone could have conjured up in any Karmaic scenario. Even the perennial accusations of corruption against OBJ, Jonathan, Diezani and Iweala have not stood the test of time because Nigeria's ranking on the Corruption Transparency Index or whatever has WORSENED since APC took over government. And 99.9% of the population is suffering it, EVERYONE is feeling it. Because as that closeted fool explained to us in America, Elections Have Consequences. Again I ask una...na who lose? Nigerians HATE the truth. Nigerians HATE good people. Nigerians with all their education at home and abroad can't reason themselves out of a paper bag. Congrats to Madam Iweala and her family. Keep on dancing💃 7 Likes 3 Shares |

Seun, whether it is for impressions or whatnot, I don't know. One wonders why you allow Igbos to make denigrating comments in the name of comments, and then in return allow Yorubas to do same. Everyone doing how they like either because you gain from the impressions or because you enjoy the we v them and them v us back n forth. 1 Like |

First son for that matter? The boy will be in his early 40s. So for those saying money first before marriage please think again. Mercy chinwo, and this one should be a lesson, they all had money but never settle for less or rush to wed. Take your time and know the person you're spending the rest of your life with. Don't be under pressure. A lady that truly loves you will wait whether you've now or not. Also notice that such marriages last longer. This doesn't mean if you have money in your twenties you shouldn't marry, but take time and not settling for less. Don't be under pressure that another man will take her. Life continues! Launching my new Subaru forester 2022 on my bday 🎂🎈. Will post here. Dr + software developer 1 Like |

bal4real:Your knowledge about governance is shallow, Jonathan remain the worst president Nigeria ever have, not even Buhari or Abacha. This country was put on permanent reverse gear by Jonathan administration. But many Mumu Nigerians, Jonathan is even the best. We are so illiterate in Nigeria to the extent that we don't even know know the right statistics to measure performance. Corruption got escalated under PDP, the spent 20billion dollars loaned money on power without anything to show for the electricity provided, The have the opportunity to save money for the future when oil money is a boom in international market, yet they spend everything and even borrowed more money. The last $1billion borrowed by Jonathan was practically shared for election through Dazuki gate, Alinson Madueke alone stole what is enough for Nigerians to spent in two good years under Jonathan and PDP. I wonder why Nigerians forget things easily. Buhari's achievement is 100% greater than the 16 years of PDP rule if you considered the fund available for then to us vis a vis. |
