The minimum length of short story submissions for the Caine Prize is 3,000 words. It must also have been published elsewhere including online. It must be submitted by publisher.

However the maximum length of submissions to Lagos Literary and Arts Journal is 2,500 words which would have made it ineligible for the Caine prize.

Therefore to assist our Nigerian authors we have decided to increase the maximum length of submission to 3500 . Please see submission notes at following : http://www.lagosliteraryjournal.com/content/submissions

The following extra conditions will however apply about this concession :

1. Submissions must be made online
2. We are very particular about spelling and grammar . If you can't get your spelling checked then your story is NOT ready for publishing. Therefore, if you can't get this right before submission, it will be rejected .
3. You must get at least 50 Facebook likes for your submission before we will consider presenting it for the Caine Prize.
