A journalist employed by Daybreak Newspapers Nigeria in Kaduna State has once again been rearrested and detained for the second time due to his investigative news report highlighting the deteriorated and poor conditions of the 2023 Mando Hajj exercise.

Comrade Gabriel Achadu Idibia was arrested and held at the Operation Yaki police command facility on Constitution Road, Kaduna, on Thursday evening. This followed an ill-planned invitation for settlement regarding his earlier report on the 2023 Mando Hajj camp pilgrims exercise, initiated by Officer Hassan Danladi.

The spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command, Mansur Hassan, confirmed the incident, expressing relief that the journalist was eventually released from custody.
