The Minister of labour and productivity, Emeka Wogu said yesterday in Abuja that the deregulation in the oil and gas sector is designed to curb the ostentatious living of the rich who have for a long time been subsidised by the Nigeria people and the economy. Also yesterday, the minister of petroleum resources, Deziani Allison Madueke said that the federal government has set up a think tank committee to advise it on the process for the removal of the subsidy as well as manage the gains from subsidy removal. Speaking to newsmen in Australia at then ongoing Commonwealth Heads of State Meeting, CHOGOM, Mrs. Allison Madueke explained that government opted for the removal of subsidies as all punitive measure put in place to curtail racketeering failed to yield the desired result. “It is has become pertinent that we find other ways to utilise the vast resources that are been channeled into the subsidy which are not reaching the masses. This time around, once we are actually met with the various stakeholders and agreed on a formula, setting major deregulatory benefits would be put on the table,” she noted. The minister who addressed Commonwealth Business Forum in Perth, Australia also added that government would not handle the implementation of these benefits, so that it would be opened and transparent. “As we speak a committee of a highly-respected Nigerians is being put together. This committee is made up of highly respected Nigerians and would be saddled with the responsibility of managing the gains. She however noted that President Goodluck Jonathan was more eager than any other Nigerian to ensure that the people get full benefit if petroleum subsidies must be removed. Wogu said the federal government is removing subsidy from the PMS because it is used for the driving of high earned vehicles, luxury SUV’s, the powerful saloon cars and racing bike and cars by the rich in the society. ‘’For a long time, the Nigeria economy and the Nigeria people have subsidised these rich elite of the society to the tune of N80.00 a litre. So now government is seeking to remove subsidy from PMS not only for the reason of politics of subsidy, but for the reason that the economy would be sustained better if these class of Nigerians are no longer subsidised by way of petroleum subsidy.’’ The minister of labour said the deregulation agenda is aimed at protecting the masses that already had begun to suffer the impact of deregulation sector a long time ago. ‘’Now, it is being done in a way that the petroleum product that is used to power luxury cars which is ostentatious in its ramification is addressed, and people are shouting rather than support the government policy. Imagine where the very rich and high society people who earn higher are being subsidised. My brother, we need to have a re-think in this matter

Can you beat the argument put forward by a serving minister of NIGERIA , highlighted in the bold

Why all the lies?

The reason is simply. Our stealing elites needs to further squeeze us in order to have more loots for themselves.

Get the story, no amount of deceit will sell again.

Let them go along and do their wish as Christ once said! The time is up for a REVOLUTION!
