The Director General of National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General YD Ahmed has commended the Corps Members that served as ad-hoc staff during the governorship elections in Kogi, Imo and Bayelsa States for their strict compliance with the electoral laws.

He hailed them for their selfless services and patriotic spirit in contributing to the development of democractic government in the country.
General Ahmed disclosed this today while monitoring the Corps Members on election duties in some local governments areas within Kogi State.

He stated further that the security and welfare of Corps Members remain topmost priority of his administration.
While at Lokoja Local Government Secretariat, Crowther Memorial College, Lokoja and other polling centres where he made on-the-spot assessment of the election, the Corps Members applauded the Scheme for giving them the opportunity to contribute their quota to national development.

Reports from NYSC officials in Imo and Bayelsa States on the performances of Corps Members on election duties also revealed their total compliance with the laid down rules and regulations.

The Director General however appealed to security agencies to ensure that all Corps Members that participated in the election are escorted to their different RAC centers in good time.
