He also added that his units "include medical teams and Arabic speakers who have undergone specific training to prepare for this complex and sensitive environment, with the aim of not causing any harm to civilians who Hamas uses as human shields."

For its part, Hamas held Israel, US President Joe Biden, and his administration “fully responsible for the repercussions of the storming” of the Shifa Medical Complex. For his part, spokesman for the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Ashraf Al-Qudra, said, “The Israeli army informed us that it would storm Al-Shifa Hospital within minutes.” Al-Qudra added that there were bombings and clashes in the vicinity of the hospital. In turn, Palestinian Health Minister Mai Al-Kaila explained that the Israeli army is surrounding Al-Shifa Hospital with tanks.

Al-Kaila said that the Israeli army entered the hospital director's office. She also stressed: “We hold Israel responsible for the lives of medical staff, patients and displaced people.” She also continued: “We are communicating with the United Nations and Western capitals regarding hospitals.” While she concluded by saying that there are no communications with Israel regarding Al-Shifa Hospital.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Yousef Abu Al-Rish, had revealed earlier that the Israeli army did not ask those in Al-Shifa Hospital to leave it, but merely confirmed that it would storm the complex within minutes. Abu Al-Rish also added to the Arab World News Agency that the Israeli army contacted some of those inside the hospital and informed them of its intention to storm it within minutes.

It is noteworthy that thousands of civilians are still stranded in the main Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip, while it is deprived of water and electricity and where doctors were forced to bury dozens of bodies in a mass grave, according to its director. The hospital includes thousands of Palestinian patients, medical staff, and civilians displaced as a result of the war raging since last October 7. While Israel says that Hamas has a command center under the Shifa complex, and uses the hospital and the tunnels under it for military operations and hostage-taking, Hamas denies this.

Former Israeli Mossad chief Danny Yatom said in a televised statement that Al-Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip must be destroyed, because it is a human shield for the positions of the Palestinian resistance leadership. Yatom added, during an interview on Israeli Channel 13, that Israel must destroy the hospital and continue digging down with bombs. Because if Tel Aviv's intelligence information is correct, this will give it the ability to crush the resistance leadership that is behind the terrible campaign currently being waged, in reference to the Al-Aqsa Flood operation that the resistance factions began about ten days ago.
