drlateef:Yoruba boy, una too get rotten mouth. Always trying to talk down other tribes so as to have an air of superiority. Una get mental problem called superiority complex. The Edo people of the past risked their life out of poverty to go through Italy route. But those poorer generation have established themselves over several decades and moved other family members there who didn't have to suffer like the first set suffered. Many Edo people today are in US, UK, France, Germany and they are doing better financially than the yorubas abroad hence the statistics prove it that they are sending two times higher what the best of yorubas (Oyo) sends home. Respect that achievement rather than maliciously denigrating the more successful Edo people because of envy The desperation of past generation Edo citizens was caused by bad leaders (federal government) who are mostly from the Fulani & Yoruba extraction. The present moribund condition of the states of Ondo, Ekiti, osun and larger part of oyo is testament of the bad government that I talk about. While edos in the past tries to escape the poverty by fleeing abroad to hustle (prostitution), the yorubas of Ogun, osun etc tried & are still trying to escape same poverty by becoming fraudsters, ritual killers, charm-selling Alfas and 419 pastors. These are all fallouts of bad government. No need trying to feel good. Tinubu (Yoruba) for example became a drug kingpin just to escape poverty that doesn't make him or his tribe better than an igala for example who uses another adaptation/survival technique to escape excruciating poverty 15 Likes 5 Shares |

Mystic216:Awolowo planted the seed of tribalism in every Yoruba. They are irredeemable. Even the educated ones. For example, wole Soyinka that forms woke criticizing previous governments is silent now when a drug lord and criminal is in charge just because of tribalism. Tribalism and bitterness towards other tribes is in every single Yoruba person 12 Likes 3 Shares |

Chinjo2:I'm from Edo but he's kind of right but not really just prostitution most of our people are refugees in Italy and Germany. We never hear them getting elected to offices in the UK, US and Canada. One day one day we'll stop being defensive and accept the truth. Almost every guy I grew up with went to Italy through Libya 6 Likes |

drlateef:Yorubas have more population and should be more in number. Yorubas have 8 states if we include kwara and kogi west. The statistics is showing percentage per state that is why edo is highest I am Edo, From Uromi, Esan north east in particular. It is true alot of Edo girls( Mostly Esan and Bini very few from Afemai (Estako/owan) went to europe in late 90s and up to say 2012 mostly for prostitution. Most of the boys went through land to italy mostly to sell drugs. It also true that many of those people made sacrifice for thier families and siblings. They sponsored their siblings and extended family in school up to university level. So today you have many edo people migrating to UK, Canada, US, Germany through education route, care visa, Nursing/Medicine work permit, skilled visa, Canada express entry, US Eb2 visa, etc. The population of Edo traveling through normal professional route is increasing and is now the majority of new migrants. but as at today, most remittance to edo state is still coming from those who went through prostitution and also those who went by land selling drug in Europe. however, I believe in another 20 years from now, the professional edo in diaspora will surpass those who went for prostitution or drug pushing. Another fact is that, most of the girls who went to Europe like 10 years ago for prostitution are no longer doing prostitution. Many of them have got legal documents and are doing different legitimate job. Many of them have migrated from Italy to Germany as single mother earning legitimate welfare money from Germany, attending German language school and learning new skills to function in Germany legitimate labour market. Although many of them went to Europe through prostitution, most of the money they are remitting today back home is not from prostitution. 4 Likes 1 Share |

So in spite of the fact that Igbos are by far, the greatest travelers, as you will find them in the UK, US, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Cambodia, Japan, Russia and elsewhere, yet only two Igbo states made it into the list. This proves that Igbos at home, are much better off than other Nigerian ethnic groups. I am not surprised Anambra is not on the list. The people there are doing very well. In fact, some Anambrarians are even sending money to their people abroad. All the SW states made it into the list. This is not very encouraging. It shows beggar mentality and babi-Allah tendencies, ready to loot any moving bus of any agbado it is carrying. 1 Like 1 Share |
