Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu, in the last seven years, has proven doubters wrong, taking-the-lead and a paradigm for a reconceptualized and recontextualized leadership in our society.

It is not about Edo State, it is the reality that a man has pledged himself to the leadership and service to the people. That man is Philip Shaibu

Cynics will concur that, in the eyes of Edo people, Philip Shaibu is the best and most experienced political actor to mount the saddle of leadership of Edo state come 2024. He is a prudent resources manager with no extravagant lifestyle and lavishing of taxpayers money on frivolities like we have experienced in recent times. This can be juxtaposed with practical governance model.

Has Edo people really felt the impact of Philip Shaibu, even when he is not the chief administrator of the present government and its governance? Yes, but needless relishing his achievements as a Deputy Governor here, but it is audible to the deaf and visible even to the blind, that within the last seven years as the Deputy Governor, there has been so much revolution on his delegated responsibilities, like the sports commission, health and the state IGR.

Edo people have said that, if it was a ‘mistake,’ electing Shaibu as the Deputy Governor of Edo State for two terms and still remain humble and loyal, then they wish to repeat that ‘mistake’ again and again, until it becomes a permanent mistake for him to become the Governor of Edo State in 2024. If Shaibu was a ‘god,’ the people are very much ready to worship it.

The market woman in Oba market, ekiosa market Egor market, Ekpoma market, Uromi Market, Jattu market, Ottuo market and Ibillo market. the artisan at Igun, the laborer in Afemai understands only a language, and that is the 'Mr Constituency Projects' for Edo Governor 2024 and for practical governance.

Edo people do not want later day politicians, who come to them in the days of elections, and run away from the people after elections.

The people are not focused on whether Shaibu will win the 2024 governorship election, but they're focused on where the practical governance will begins from. Will it be the complete renovations of all the government owned schools with full time teachers and form masters each to one classroom, or will it be the construction of flyovers across the major roads and busy junction of the various towns and Benin City or the connection of township roads to major roads in the state. This is their focus.

Shaibu is not a loud mouthed politician with vague promises, he allows his practical results of governance speaks for him.

Do not bow to Babylonians, If you don't trust in chariots and horses, then trust in the Lord who has long called Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu to serve humanity in this dimension of Grace as we hope for a better and glorious Edo.
