The First Curse by PCHC(m): 1:47pm On Nov 18, 2023 |
[Genesis 3:14] So the Lord God said to the serpent: “Because you have done this, You are cursed more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you shall go, And you shall eat dust All the days of your life. [NKJV] Then the Lord God told the serpent, “Because of what you've done, you are cursed more than any of the other animals. You will slide along on your belly and eat dust as long as you live. [FBV] 1 That would be the first thing/time "the Lord God said to the Devil," which the scriptures delivered to us on this side ever captured. The Serpent began his talk with the woman in this chapter, probing what God has said to her about eating of every tree in the Garden. We are also interested in what God said to the Serpent on that matter and every matter about a man or mankind. 2 "Because you have done this" meant that for what the Serpent has done God is judging the Serpent according to his work, not according to God's feelings, nor anger, nor hatred, if any for the Serpent. It's a righteous judgment, according to the Serpent's deed (work). The Serpent was the first to be judged by God according to his work, after being the first to be praised for his wiseness or craftiness among the creatures of the field God made. Don't forget what the Serpent had done, for which God herein judged him, was not a physical action but a "Doctrine." Because you have done this, God said to the Serpent: "Done this" implied "Taught this (Doctrine or Deception)" by which the woman was deceived into the transgression. The Serpent did not touch the woman but he taught the woman; and in his conversation with her the Serpent mentioned or used the name of "God" more times than the woman, indicating he spoke to her as a kind of a man of God or prophet. The woman only mentioned "God" once but the Serpent used the name of God twice or more times in talking with her, being very subtle in his approach to the woman. 3 Until then, no curse was on earth but only Blessings of God upon His Creatures. The first curse, that entered the world in the beginning, was the curse that came upon the Serpent. The Serpent was both the first cursed thing and also the most cursed above all living Creatures of the field. And when the Lord God pronounces a person is/as cursed one, the accursed one shall depart from Him [God] and shall go into perdition or into the lake of fire and brimstone prepared for the devil and his angels. [Matthew 25:41] — "Then He will say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels." 4 The curse upon the serpent was a life-sentence for his wickedness against God, against mankind, against living creatures, and against paradise on earth. The curse was a life imprisonment with hard mobility labor of moving or crawling on the serpent's belly and eating dust all the days of the serpent's life. Therefore, the curse upon the serpent is unbreakable curse, and the serpent cannot be redeemed from the curse during the days of his lifetime. When a curse is irreversible, irredeemable and unbreakable, forever, then the accursed is a son of perdition. We may not have literally read were God blessed the serpent before but we know the serpent was blessed by being very crafty (wiser) than beasts of the field and fruitful to bear seed of the serpent; but we hereby read God cursed the serpent for the woman's sake. Let's do some reviews: The serpent that was more crafty than any beast of the field became the serpent that is cursed more than all cattle and beasts of the field, for deceiving the woman of God. It also means the Serpent himself was deceived because he did not see the curse or consequences of deceiving someone coming from God's Judgment of his deed. The serpent that was asking the woman of what God said about man's eating of every tree in the garden, and assuring her she will not surely die, (like one of these Pentecostal Pastors that decree and declare prophetically to sinners as if their own words of declarations would supercede the Word of God if they are louder), was himself ignorant of the righteous Judgment of God but only knew a part about the tree of knowledge of good and evil and the prosperity message of that tree he preached and mentored the woman into having. For what he had done to the woman (to the church), he was cursed; and reduced from being the most informed (wisest) among the living creatures of the field into becoming the most abominable and cursed creature among the living creatures. This is the first lesson that demonstrates, "Any wisdom, knowledge or counsel, against God is either a deception or a curse, or even both." [Proverbs 21:30] — "There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD." [Galatians 1:8-10] — "But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be under a curse! As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you embraced, let him be under a curse! Am I now seeking the approval of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ."
