Nigeria shoppers beware. There is secret fraud going on among some popular shopping malls which many shoppers don't know. Since subsidy removal som e shopping malls are roping buyers off.THE WILL PUT A LOWERED PRICE TAGE ON DISPLAY STAND,ONCE PICK AND MOVE TO POINT OF PAYMENT THEIR STAFF WILL KEY IN HIGHER PRICES IN YOUR RECEIPT TO PAY. BECAUSE THEY KNOW THAT NIGERIANS DONT CHECK THEIR RECEIPTS,THIS IS THE ONGOING UGLY TREND BY SHOPPING MALLS. AND WORST OF IT ALL IS WHEN YOU ADVISE THEM TO CORRECT IT,THEY IGNORE YOU AND DONT LISTEN, AND MOVE TO NEXT BUYERS ON QUEUE. EVEN CORORATION ORGANSATION ARE SO FRAUDULENT IKE THIS? SOME WILL ADD VAT TO BOAST THEIR PRICE AT POINT OF PAYMENT. SHINE YOUR EYES NAIJA SHOPPERS. ![]() ![]() 6 Likes |

youngsahito: The Nigerian labour unions are the most useless worldwide. The leadership are far less concerned about the plight of their union members, whose dues they deducted unfailingly every month. But are rather after the amount of the dues they share among each others every monthly circle. They live fat on other workers suffering. 2 Likes |

youngsahito:Indian has a "caste" system, read about it and you would understand why they behave like that to Nigerians. Chinese by nature are workaholics while Lebanese,I blame Nigerian government for that, Nigeria is far better that Lebanon, their currency is sh!t, a country in economic turmoil, many of them jubilate when they get Nigeria nationality. 2 Likes |

I'd be always grateful to work in private companies (two actually) though it was filled bitter-sweet experiences. The bitter experiences majorly are toxic office politics, racism/tribalism, insane amount of pressure, zero job security. The sweet experiences includes; great pay, rich amount of experience (if you want to start your own company in the same industry). For upcoming entrepreneurs and those desirous of starting their own company, a well-structured private company is a great launching pad. 2 Likes |

I noticed the chairman want to be acting as if he's doing me a favour, then I let him know he's not responsible for my growth. You didn't train me from primary to university level, why will u be acting as if u are the saviour of my life... 5 Likes 1 Share |

I should have ran when I had no job description as all I was told was that I should be able to multitask and out of desperation I took the job. We didn’t agree on a salary. Work days was from Monday - Sunday with opening hours from 7:30am and closing only when the owner decides. My salary for the first 3 month was 10k after which it progressively increased and was capped at 30k.The organization experienced growth yet we who put in the work didn’t enjoy in the success but whenever there was an issue we wholly took the blame.Emotional abuse was rife, salaries was only expected between the 8th - 15th. Services paid for by students was almost never rendered as they were taught by students who finished a session earlier and we experienced mass failures but due to the advertisements, there is always influx of students. I don’t have a problem with been used but while been used, pay me what I am worth. PS: This educational service regularly spends millions on advertising on Faaji Fm and wouldn’t spend a quarter on recruiting quality teaching staffs. 5 Likes |

There some people with 20k salary, the still have babe, if they don't talk about transportation before asking a girl out, I wonder why you are talking about transportation when it comes to planning for your future. Finally, it is not a crime to have 2 people with different table of preference. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Hey Nairalanders! I stumbled upon this thread and thought it's a great opportunity to share my experiences working in a private company here in Nigeria. I've been a part of the workforce for about five years now, and it's been quite a journey. Firstly, the work culture varies a lot depending on the industry. I'm in the IT sector, and the pace is fast, to say the least. The demand for innovation and adaptability keeps us on our toes. Deadlines can be tight, but the collaborative spirit among colleagues makes it manageable. One challenge that stands out is the power situation. In some companies, having reliable backup generators is a must, but even then, power outages can disrupt work. It's something we've learned to cope with, but it does add an extra layer of complexity to daily operations. On the positive side, the camaraderie in the workplace is incredible. Nigerians are known for their warmth and friendliness, and that definitely reflects in our office culture. Team bonding events, celebrations, and a sense of community help create a supportive work environment. Salary-wise, it's a mixed bag. Some companies pay competitively, while others might lag behind. Negotiating your package is crucial, and being aware of industry standards is a must. Don't be afraid to ask questions during interviews about benefits, bonuses, and career advancement opportunities. Overall, the private sector in Nigeria is dynamic and full of opportunities for growth. It has its challenges, but with the right mindset and a proactive approach, it's definitely a rewarding experience. Looking forward to hearing others' experiences! 4 Likes |

I swear, eyes don see. I just dey look ppl dey call all those Chinese, Lebanese, Indian guys different names as if the ones wey we dey do ourselves sometimes no pass. The issue with most of those people is that, that's how they work without rest even in their own country, reasons some top companies like Dangote prefer to bring them in to their companies. Although some of them may be intentionally wicked as well. But u see our own people that are incharge here, they are soooo selfish, callous and insensitive. They don't give a Bleep about any other person aside themselves. You would only see one out of a thousand Nigeria administrator or boss that is good (not surprised, cos most of them get up there through dubious ways). It's so pathetic. Imagine working 60 hours a week and one head of operations would still be asking you to join meeting on your off days, in person oo. You are also expected to join some impromptu and other departmental meetings at least once a week. This is a shift job where you might run night shift or work 24 hours non-stop, even those that are not running night shifts hardly sleep sometimes cos of workload. The level of insensitivity of the woman who's the head of operations and the CEO is second to none. They are typical users that also see themselves as God that must be worshipped. If you take sick leave and exceed it for just one day, you will be given query. How many days are there in the sick days leave sef? One person carrying the workload of 6 people, to employ more people as the company grows is always a problem because of their own selfish reasons. They don't care if you die, in fact, what do you call beasts that expect you to always work round the clock without a single break...are they not killers? Someone politely seek salary increment and got fired. Plenty things to talk about, coupled with the toxic politics among the operations manager and the other team leads left, right and centre. I'm talking about Apex Network, they trade gift cards and crypto. Run for your life once you hear that stupid company so you don't die like a chicken someday. 2mininuP: 4 Likes |
