The Western Naval Command HQ, situated in Apapa, Lagos, holds jurisdiction over the sea and coastal areas extending from the Nigeria/Benin border at Long 002o 49′ E to Long 006o E in Delta State, covering the nation’s coastline to the limit of the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

The interactive sessions during the oversight visit aimed to facilitate a comprehensive understanding of the Navy’s needs, emphasizing the committee’s dedication to ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of Nigeria’s naval operations.

As part of the visit, the delegation toured the Naval Dockyard Limited (NDL), a prominent shipbuilding and fabrication yard in Nigeria.
