If Akeredolu is said to have been incapacitated and been in Oyo State since his return, then the question is who is ruling the state? His wife, CoS or who, your guess is good as mine the first option looks very likely. I believe these are one of the reasons Mr Aiyedatiwa wants to be declared as The Acting Governor. But the sad reality is that neither Aketi nor any of the players have the interest of the masses at heart.

The main point of this news is to portray the Deputy Governor as a villain.
What resolution are they even bandying around?

Anything short of making the Deputy Governor the Acting Governor is politick, and he shouldn't fall for it.

Painful that Akeredolu is incapacitated at the moment, the natural succession is to allow his deputy take over from him.

It appears they are scared of their shadows, especially those who orchestrated the impeachment moves against him.

It's not that easy as you outline here - that "natural succession" is not that easy in this part of the world.

The deputy can't even pretend a little not to be desperate. If he's coming to him, no one can stop it and if the leadership of the state is not destined for him, then he can't get it.

It's sad that his boss is down and he's matching him. He should be the one to protect him.

It's sickness for God's sake.

There was an official press release by the presidency that the status quo be maintained. No what is the status quo.

It will be recalled that the President has directed, according to a press release by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale⁣ advised all opposing parties to sheath their sword and embrace peace.
Ngelale said “This means that Governor Akeredolu remains Chief Executive of the State, Aiyedatiwa remains Deputy Governor, and members of the State Executive Council continue their respective duties, even as the leadership of the State’s House of Assembly and the APC Chapter in Ondo State is preserved.⁣”

"Status quo" is ambiguous.

I thought it was only the court that could declare Status Quo. grin I didn't know our President is now an Excecitive President, Executive Senator and Executive Judge. Just like other analysts have written here, if not for the lazy legislators we have that don't know their role, this topic is not up for discussion. They would have done the needful. Our politicians never learn.

He didn't just say status quo. He explained what status quo is. Akeredolu remains governor, Ayedatiwa remains deputy governor, State executive council remains, leadership of state house and and state party chapter is preserved(remains unchanged is what I believe preserve means in dis context)

Until the people start voting right, it will always be like this. The legislators were handpicked in most cases by the people they should be checking....
