The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has elected David Bariereka as its new National Secretary General at her convention at the old parade ground, Abuja on Sunday. David, got 157 votes to defeat his closest rival, Bright Oluwatobi Iransi of University of Benin who scored 70 votes. The Students also elected other offices with Lucky Emonefe Emerging as National President. The New Secretary General, is reported to be a post graduate student of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education in Rivers State. David Bariereka was a former S.U.G President of University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) and a former Deputy Coordinator of the defunct NANS Zone B which comprises of the South-South and South-East.
