BEING SECURITY CONSCIOUS WHILST DOING BUSINESS .

This post was inspired by an ad specifically requesting a female service provider and I thought to write these out in order to look out for entrepreneurs irrespective of genders.

1. If an offer sounds too good to be true, then be extra careful and vigilant please.

2. Insist on meeting your clients in a public place

3. Ask them to send their ID cards which could either be International Passport, Drivers Licence, Work ID Card, Voters Card etc.

4. Insist that they do a transfer from their account to yours to leave a paper trail. No cash on delivery till you trust them.

5. Ensure you have a client's log so people know which client you are going to see. Their details must be included in legible writing.

6. Sudden change of meeting point? Notify family or work members.

7. Ensure your phones are fully charged when going put and has data and call credit. Don't go owing TELCOs.

8. Don't go meeting clients at far distances or remote areas.

9. Get a trusted cab man for all your work meetings .

10. Don't allow greed make you overlook red flags.

11. Follow company procedures and do not bend the rules too much for customers.

12. If a client insists on secret transactions, be wary and be on your guard and inform work colleagues and family members.

13. Get someone to call you every 30mins you are with a client.

14. Decline drinks and food offer when meeting clients on their personal turf .

What have I missed out?

Remember, I dey go somewhere is not a location.

God keep us safe this #Yuletide and beyond.
