Director General of South East Governor’s Forum, Senator Uche Ekwunife has distanced herself from media reports about her involvement in brokering a political deal between Governor Hope Uzodinma and former House Speaker Emeka Ihedioha describing the reports as Describes Publication as Unfounded, Wicked and Malicious.

In a statement issued by Tony Ezike SA Media and Strategic Communication to the 9th Senate Lawmaker on Monday, Ekwunife said the write up was poor fabrication and a failed attempt to tarnish her good reputation and drive a wedge between herself and those concerned.

Urging the public to discountenance the report Ekwunife explained that at no time was she involved in resolving any political dispute involving Governor Hope Uzodinma and former Governor Emeka Ihedioha.

The 9th Senate Lawmaker added that though she continues to hold both men in high esteem being her former colleagues at the National Assembly, there's however no reason for her to habour vested interests in the Politics of IMO State as she is neither an indigene of the state.

She asked the public to disregard the fake news;

"The attention of Senator Uche Ekwunife Ph.D, has been drawn to a fake news circulating in the social media to the effect that she was involved in brokering a political deal between Governor Hope Uzodinma and former House Speaker Emeka Ihedioha.

“It is unfortunate that these agents of darkness and failed politicians will resort to cheap blackmail against Senator Ekwunife; they have failed and will continue to fail.

"At no time did Senator Uche Ekwunife get involved in resolving any political dispute involving Governor Hope Uzodinma and former Governor Emeka Ihedioha. Why should she get involved when she is not even from Imo State?

Ekwunife further clarified that her speech during her defection to the All Progressives Congress, APC, was only centered on the reasons for her defection and the inherent benefits to the party structure she has maintained in the state over the decades.

It wondered what Ekwunife's decision to join the APC got to do with such baseless and malicious falsehood if not to cause disaffection between her and those of her former colleagues in the National Assembly.

Security agencies were urged by Ekwunife to unravel the perpetrators of this wicked falsehood and bring them to book, the statement enjoined the general public to disregard the fake news.

Ihedioha shouldn't be seen having any business with Uzodinma. Make everybody dey their lane. The latter is clearly evil.
