Australian Solar Installation Company Helps Africans with Solar Energy Using Unwanted Solar Panels in Brisbane

Brisbane, AustraliaQueensland Solar and Lighting, a renowned Brisbane-based solar panel installation company, has embarked on a groundbreaking initiative to repurpose unwanted solar panels for use in African communities. This initiative, spearheaded by the company's CEO, Daniel, in collaboration with local African residents in Brisbane, is set to make a significant impact on the lives of many in Africa who lack access to reliable electricity.
A Sustainable Solution to Solar Waste

The initiative addresses a critical issue: the disposal of solar panels from Brisbane homes undergoing solar system upgrades. Typically, these panels, still in good working condition, face the risk of being stockpiled or sent to landfills. Queensland Solar and Lighting has found a sustainable and impactful use for these panels, turning potential waste into a source of clean energy for African villages.
Local Engagement and Global Impact

Daniel, the CEO of Queensland Solar and Lighting, expressed his delight at the local community's involvement, particularly the role played by African residents in Brisbane. These residents have been instrumental in collecting the panels from Brisbane homes, ensuring they are ready for their journey to Africa. This local-global collaboration not only aids in recycling efforts but also fosters a sense of community and shared responsibility towards a greener future.

“When we do a solar installation where we upgrade the customers existing system, they ask us, “what about the old solar panels?” I tell them that a solar recycler will come around and pick the existing system up from the address. It took around 10 years since the beginning of the solar market for the solar panel recycling to begin. Will we see the same thing happen with solar batteries for homes as the solar power market matures, and the earlier solar batteries being replaced by newer technology. Will the African solar recyclers be interested in solar batteries too? I often wonder, I truly do!” Daniel Jarrett, C.E.O of Queensland Solar & Lighting.
Lighting Up Lives in Africa

The repurposed solar panels are set to bring much-needed electricity to African communities, many of which have limited or no access to the main power grid. This electricity will power basic lighting and enable the charging of essential devices, significantly improving the quality of life and economic opportunities in these communities.
A Commitment to Quality and Sustainability

Queensland Solar and Lighting has always prioritized quality and sustainability in its operations. The company, known for its small yet highly skilled team of electricians and commitment to customer satisfaction, has been recognized by Forbes Advisor and PV Magazine Australia for its expertise in solar technology. This new initiative is a testament to their dedication to not only providing quality solar solutions to Australian residents but also extending their impact globally.
A Brighter Future for All

This initiative is more than just a recycling program; it's a step towards a brighter, more sustainable future. By repurposing solar panels, Queensland Solar and Lighting is reducing waste, aiding in global electrification efforts, and setting an example for the solar industry worldwide. The company's efforts demonstrate how local actions can have a profound global impact, lighting up lives one solar panel at a time.
