Peter Obi will still claim Nigeria governments caused the exit of GSK in Kenya. He talks anyhow and lack integrity to address or give advice on national issue 1 Like 1 Share |
Nope. They have best sales force around and have bulks to throw on ads and promo. It’s just too costly to operate in Africa and the ease of doing business is not there. Where a market is not delivering 5% of the group revenue but headaches from such market is more than 95% of the group’s headaches, you should know that Board would resolve to wind down from such market and look for alternative business model. GSK’s branded generics are not sold under GSK’s name. They are sold under Allens & Hansbury. Any product you see under GSK Pharmaceuticals (not GSK Consumer o), are all patented. No Indian or other local companies can manufacture them. Panadol and co are under GSK Consumer. But all those big drugs dem, forget na imitation lo ba de o. So your assertion is off tangent. Please Learn how to read and understand. My assertion or from the report? You can go back a read very well again. |

U09ce: Nigeria and Africa always get it wrong; the Indian government invested in industrial and pharmaceutical infrastructures such as vaccine factories, APIs and biomedical factories. The Nigerian government must also invest in industrial-scale infrastructure to support local pharmas The Indian pharmaceutical industry has 5 important segments; contract research and manufacturing services (CRAMS), active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), formulations, biologics and biosimilars, and vaccines.[28][29] Various types of companies are within these segments. 1 Like |

sulaak:Nigerian governments have become so stupid that they don't want to participate in any for of production again. They are waiting for foreign private investors for everything. Even,to the extent of infrastructure. They are still looking for foreign investors for PPP |

accordadoga25: Before opening this thread, I said to myself that there'll be a foolish person who will celebrate this news as if it's a win for Nigeria. The foolish person will say that since the company also exited Kenya then the company exiting Nigeria is not so bad after all Nigeria is not suffering alone. In my opinion only extremely foolish people, witches and wizards think like that. They underrate their downfall and celebrate the downfall of others. In their thinking they're not alone in their misery. Your own case is worse because you've also included tribalism in your display of extremely stupidity, witchery and wizardry. The company exiting Nigeria is a bad thing because there'll be job loss for many people, tax loss for government and decline in quality of life due to increase in price of their products. When last did you go out to buy Augmentine? A sachet that was less than 5k is now over 30k. Same amount you'll use to buy half bag of rice is what you'll use to buy a sachet of Augmentine because the company producing it has packed up due to harsh business environment. But the above is not clear to you because because tribalism, stupidity, and witchery has beclouded your senses. Nigeria will happen to you one day and we will read your miserable story online. 2 Likes |

raddyworld: You are saying this because you found out Tinubu scammed you, companies close up for different reasons which I will not go into now, but you as a citizen should ask yourself, if a pharmaceutical company leaves your country and the prices of drugs go up, is it beneficial to you? Or if a pharmaceutical company leaves your country and the prices of drugs remains the same or comes down, is it beneficial to you? Kenya and Nigeria case might be very far apart, Tinubu is doing damage to Nigeria... |

Whether from the report or from you. It’s off tangent. The report is not, officially, from GSK. I was an insider for close to 2 decades at GSK and I still have access to people and info across GSK businesses in Africa and Europe. We shouldn’t be heightening people’s apprehension. |
