Don't you think that World Bank aims to undermine Nigeria in the end? A country without specific restrictions on imported goods would face a significant downturn. The intentions of these individuals controlling World Bank towards Africa are not positive. |

Okpollo: Lol you don't have to be in Govt before you shortchange the system all the Policies av loopholes even if you bring it from Harvard the citizens will detect the loopholes... I remember when people are approaching Banks for Forex for Raw material after taking it they will take the Forex to Black Market and jus make Profit through that route.... Nigeria Govt didn't av people that would enforce the policies if someone is arrested for infraction with just phone calls he or she will be released or if he or she is ready to part way with some money to the Law enforcement agency..... Both the Law enforcer and the citizens are corrupt.... |

The World Bank and its Satanic Advice, eeh! Which one is lifting import restrictions bringing 1.3 M people out of poverty? Lol! That's a blatant lie, and the FG should completely ignore it. Import restrictions actually redirects the resources of a nation into developing her domestic production capacity and widening it, spreading out improvement on diverse economic sectors and the industries therein. This World Bank is one of the greatest enemies of developing nations, using their evil, self centered economic advices to stifle and subjugate the growth of gullible nations. Well I trust the average Nigerian government. The advice will be ignored like always. |

The same experts with locally trained cronies at Oxford and Harvard that killed us patapata with Structural Adjustment. They will never stop as long as importers of pins, used goods, junks and laborers called engineers employing our graduates keep coming in. No wonder Procter and Gamble, Smith Kline and others have pulled out to become importers, the most profitable game in town. They are all after CBN to loot any earned foreign income in the name of Only Foreign Corporations are our Salvation. |

/ They have Ph.Ds from the best institutions in the world. They have intimidating CVs. They parade themselves as Economists of repute by will depend on advise from USA on how to run their local economy. They don't pioneer squat. It is always copy and paste all the way to our system of government. Who did this to black people especially Nigerians? It may seem that their brains shut down as soon as they enter the Nigerian space. The country has turned out to be an organized chaos. / |

World Bank is not our friend. They pioneered the SAP program of IBB which heralded the decline of naira. They would rather we become import dependent than manufacture anything internally. 1 Like |

But the blockheads we have as leaders will only do the normal "Yes Sir" behavior and put rope for their people neck. I ne:er see world bank or IMF or any of these people wey dey truly see our continent as a business advice more on productivity. If they do am, na just for cruise in one lengthy talk where that reasonable advice will be lost in all the nonsense but the one that'll favor them will be loudly highlighted.... Me no blame them, I blame those wey get the means but no fit use Pako plank their puppets out of leadership positions... Awon oni yéyé.. |

Ebeano49: When we were about getting out of SAP, they sold Monetization to us and turned everything that we used to enjoy for free to money and take out our resources by paying pittance . Everyone is now worried and overworked to make the money we couldn't print at our convenient time. This advise from WorldBank is another one that is aimed at finishing us completely. 1 Like |

World Bank's Country Director for Nigeria, Shubham Chaudhuri, should consider Nigeria CBN Governor and Nigeria Finance Minister because the country is directly implementing the IMF/World Bank policy the sam policies that destroyed the automobile industry in 1986 when Nigeria implemented SAP. The World Bank has said that the removal of import restrictions in Nigeria will lift about 1.3 million people out of poverty. |
